We read Creepy Carrots then students worked together to build a fence to keep the carrots in the garden
Students spent time getting to know each other as each of their classmates shared a scrapbook page they created about themselves
First week of school complete! Students learned about things they had in common with one another and how they were different. Together, they created a Venn diagram to represent their learning
Our first day of Teacher for the Day was a blast! Students learned how to do a puzzle, a dance, how to draw, about dragons, shapes & math facts, about horses, and about baseball. We can’t wait for tomorrow!
This week I was invited to a baseball game and a volleyball game. One of my favorite ways to build relationships with my students is to encourage them with the things they love. Watching these two play a sport that brings them joy makes me so happy!

So proud of these kids! They’ve worked hard over the last couple months on research, boards, costumes, and speeches for our 2nd grade wax museum. They blew me away today!

After reading The Relatives Came, students were surprised to find family members & friends waiting outside to read and have a special snack with them.
