Two days of Bitcoin, P2P, and local AI don’t happen without the people who back them. Thank you to every sponsor of the Plan ₿ Forum. Lugano, October 23-24.

One week to Plan ₿ Forum. @LuganoPlanB This is what to look for on the first floor of Villa Ciani, 23 and 24 October: Never sell. Borrow against your Bitcoin, with your key on your own hardware wallet and no custodian. Bring your questions. Leave the Bitcoin where it is.

Every loan on BTCBacked has three keys. You hold one. Create yours from a password in the app, or use your own hardware wallet. Either way, we never see your password, private key or recovery words. How to choose:

Liquidation should never be the first thing you hear from a lending platform. If Bitcoin falls, you get a margin call by email and in the app, and you can add collateral or repay part of the loan. Three warning levels, all known before you borrow. Liquidation at 90%.

We'll be at Plan ₿ Forum in Lugano on 23 and 24 October, Villa Ciani, first floor. @LuganoPlanB If you've ever sold Bitcoin to pay for something, come talk to us. On BTCBacked you borrow against it instead. No custodian, and your key never leaves your own hardware wallet.

On Tuesday: if we disappear, your Bitcoin does not. Here is how. Every loan on BTCBacked has its own escrow address with three keys, one each for borrower, lender and us. Any two move the collateral. Who signs at each stage, and what the escrow does not protect you from:

Ask any lending platform what happens to your Bitcoin if the company disappears. On BTCBacked, nothing does. Borrower and lender together hold two of the three keys, which is all it takes to move the collateral without us. Recover with your own wallet or an open source tool.

Ask most lending platforms what a loan actually costs, and you get a range. Borrowers pay 1.5% once, in BTC. Lenders pay nothing. The only other fee is 5%, and only if a loan is liquidated. No spreads. No markups. No fee that appears later.

You do not have to change how you hold your Bitcoin to borrow against it. Your key stays on your hardware wallet, in cold storage, for the life of the loan. You approve each signature on the device, as you do now. The same setup you trust today. One extra thing it can now do.

Three keys exist for your loan. You hold one. Your lender holds one. We hold one. Moving the collateral takes two. This is not a policy. It is how the addresses are built on the Bitcoin blockchain, and you can verify it yourself any time. No pooling. No rehypothecation.
