IT consulting and managed services on high watch. This is still a raw idea I’m working through, but a few names in the sector are starting to look interesting from a chart perspective. The thought came to me while I was reading about Microsoft’s voluntary buyout offers and thinking about the broader effects of AI-related layoffs. The market seems focused on the possibility that AI will reduce the need for consultants. But there may be another side to that story: companies cutting staff to invest in AI may still need outside teams to clean and organize their data, connect AI tools to existing systems, and manage those systems once they’re running. That doesn’t mean the whole sector automatically benefits, or that every company will be positioned to win. It’s just a possible ripple effect worth investigating and some of the charts are beginning to catch my attention. I’ll share a few names that look promising and dig deeper into the fundamentals, business exposure, and higher-timeframe setups before treating this as a developed thesis.
