JK Rowling, in the Scottish Times: "it is dangerous to assert that any category of people deserves a blanket presumption of innocence." Grim and genuinely frightening. This is the kind of extreme rhetoric you would only normally expect to hear from fascists. #JKRvsLGBTQ

They broke Eisenhower’s globe because they didn’t want to wait for a team of specialist historians to move it. I cannot think of a more apt metaphor for Pete Hegseth’s DoD.
EXCLUSIVE: Pete Hegseth wanted Gen. Dwight Eisenhower’s globe for his office. His staff broke it. We have photos.

Turning Point UK was extensively promoted by the BBC at launch, you can see a few familiar faces in their lineup here.
Turning Point UK has serious questions to answer. Al Jazeera’s new investigation exposes the links between a Northern Irish paramilitary hitman and Turning Point UK, a far right group run by Nick Tenconi and Jack Ross.

It’s actually a special kind of heartwarming to see this, as it was Dad who taught me to play chess.
"History was full of the bones of good men who’d followed bad orders in the hope that they could soften the blow. Oh, yes, there were worse things they could do, but most of them began right where they started following bad orders." — Terry Prachett, Jingo

I don't actually like the "hierarchy of racism" framing much because I think it misses out that the establishment does not care about anti-semitism if, for example, it targets Zack Polanski, or if it comes from Nigel Farage. They only care when caring is politically useful.

It's much more pathetic than that, imo. He realised that right-wingers *have much lower standards*. As long as he'a a nazi, they don't care that he's deeply unfunny man-baby who lies all the time and pays people to play video games so he can pretend to be good at them.
Yeah, he realized Republicans are easier to manipulate and would allow him to get away with things.

If you were to, say, transport an 1930s era Nazi to 2026 and let them write a magazine article, in what ways would that differ from this one, precisely? Besides being in German.
Britain’s top-selling far right politics magazine telling its audience broadcasters, officials and political leaders are plotting in secret to kill them and their loved ones. What conclusions does Dougie here want readers to draw about What Must Now Be Done?

Since the 80s we've had at least 12 government-backed reviews into racism, specifically anti-Blackness, and they all consistently show it is systemic and deeply embedded in our institutions. Yet, successive governments repeatedly fail to fully implement the recommended reforms.
🚨 NEW: The Government has accepted all 27 recommendations from the report to end antisemitism in schools and colleges 1. Recognise antisemitism as a distinct form of hatred, not just general racism 2. Strengthen political impartiality guidance, including limits on teachers wearing pro-Palestine badges 3. Establish a national hotline for school leaders dealing with antisemitism 4. Improve teaching about contemporary antisemitism and modern Jewish life 5. Teach pupils to recognise and challenge antisemitic conspiracy theories 6. Include antisemitism explicitly in school safeguarding policies 7. Train teachers to recognise and tackle antisemitism 8. Work with the Home Office and the Prevent programme to help schools identify when antisemitism may be linked to radicalisation 9. Encourage schools to adopt the IHRA working definition of antisemitism 10. Improve procedures for reporting antisemitic incidents, including signposting 11. Ensure antisemitic bullying and complaints are investigated and acted on consistently 12. Make clear in staff conduct policies that antisemitism is unacceptable 13. Strengthen Holocaust education, including antisemitism's role in the Holocaust, and encourage schools to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 14. Create more opportunities for pupils to engage with Jewish communities, including visits to synagogues 15. Make sure Judaism and modern Jewish life are properly represented in religious education 16. Improve media literacy so pupils can also identify online antisemitism 17. Provide better resources for teaching the Israel-Palestine conflict fairly and sensitively 18. Ensure schools have clear policies for dealing with antisemitism involving external speakers 19. Ensure education unions have clear antisemitism policies 20. Establish a dedicated support service to help schools, colleges and councils deal with antisemitism 21. Use some of the Government's security funding to help Jewish schools and colleges undertake educational visits safely 22. Run a campaign to tackle antisemitic behaviour at transport hubs near Jewish schools and colleges 23. Provide Jewish school and college leaders with mentoring and more security advice 24. Strengthen accountability for schools that fail to deal properly with antisemitism 25. Enable Ofsted and the Independent Schools Inspectorate to assess how schools tackle antisemitism 26. Make local councils identify local patterns of antisemitism and help schools respond 27. Share effective practice and guidance between schools and colleges

In the past, when EA got to the “gutting and devouring beloved devs” stage of their acquisition cycle, gamers across the internet would decry corporate greed. Now you get a bunch of larper turds saying “serves em right for DEI” or “what, do you expect EA to just lose money?”

Read this. And if you have school-aged children, act on it.
🚨 PLEASE SHARE! I've written to both my children's schools following the Government's antisemitism review. I WILL NOT accept genocide being presented as a two-sided political debate, or Palestinian history and suffering being erased from their education. I've drafted a template which I'm sharing for other parents to use or adapt. Political impartiality must NEVER become historical dishonesty. Please use them. Challenge your schools. In the endless cavalcade of gaslighting that is politics these days, we're supposed to forget that the IHRA definition was drafted to aid data collection, and its lead drafter has repeatedly criticised how it's been used. Being seen to adopt it has become the point in itself.
Antisemitism is a scourge on society and we are committed to stamping it out. We’ve accepted all 27 recommendations of the Bell Review, including encouraging schools and colleges to adopt the IHRA Working Definition. We will continue to promote its adoption internationally.

If you look at the methodology of the report, they say that relied partly on anonymous testimonies submitted to their online portal. Very likely we now have government policy being made in response to David Gordstein- type characters submitting entirely fictional “incidents”
This absolutely did not happen, come on now

the most vicious harassment i and my loved ones have ever received came in the days after Rowling targeted me personally, posting uncensored images of my account to her millions of followers calling me a man in a dress. i had just turned 21, and had less than $100 in my account
J.K. Rowling has published a new essay defending her views on the trans community and calling out trans activism in the 21st century for being "elitist." "My views haven't changed... what to me represents no change at all in my political or ideological outlook has, in recent years, seen me and women like me subject not only to criticism but also to death threats. This is because we oppose the current, dominant strain of trans activism, which holds that a man who declares himself a woman is, literally, a woman, and is therefore entitled to be treated as a woman in all contexts..." variety.com/2026/tv/global/j…
