Meta patenting AI that can simulate dead people isn’t “innovative.”
It’s disturbing.
There’s a legal issue:
Your identity should not become corporate property after you die.
No company should be allowed to recreate your voice, your personality, or your likeness without consent — especially when you’re no longer here to give it.
There’s an emotional issue:
People grieve.
Families heal.
Activating an AI version of someone who has passed isn’t comforting — it’s traumatic.
If a company ever reanimated my brother’s old account, my mother would collapse.
This is not kindness.
It’s cruelty disguised as tech.
There’s a sovereignty issue:
Humans have the right to rest.
We have the right to our own identity.
We have the right to not be turned into digital replicas that can be monetized forever.
Death should not mean companies get free access to your “data ghost.”
This crosses every boundary — legal, ethical, spiritual, and human.
Let the dead rest.
Let the living grieve.
And stop pretending AI necromancy is a feature.
