Cooler weather is approaching, Baltimore. Keep space heaters 3 feet from anything that can burn, plug directly into wall outlets, and turn off before bed. Have chimneys inspected and cleaned yearly. Stay warm. Stay safe. #BCFD #HeatingSafety

Safe cooking starts with you. Stay in the kitchen while cooking, keep an eye on your food, and turn off the stove if you need to step away. Keep towels, paper, and other flammable items away from the stovetop. A moment of distraction can turn into an emergency.

Safe charging means making smart choices every time you plug in. Use the correct battery and manufacturer-recommended charger, charge on a flat, hard surface, and unplug once fully charged. Watch for warning signs like excessive heat, swelling, unusual smells, or strange sounds.
