I've gotten some nice testimonials over the years, but this one is especially nice. Beth has such a sharp legal mind; it was interesting to work with her.
Final boss of Property essays on the Florida bar exam.
A Florida man was found dead in his home during a welfare check in July 2022. Weeks later, one of the officers who discovered his body moved into the home and spent years impersonating him, according to investigators. nbcnews.com/news/us-news/off…
Watched the Elizabeth Holmes documentary and it’s rather mind bending. You might, like me, leave the film more sympathetic to her than you were when it started. But it’s impossible not to consider throughout that the reason you feel that way is that she’s using the same manipulative techniques that (presumably) got her into this mess to begin with.
Definitely worth a watch.

Looks fantastic!
update:
The Florida Bar has concluded its internal investigation into the direct messages sent from Kade McLendon’s Instagram account to Damon Wilson. Those messages were reprehensible and inconsistent with the mission, values, and policies of The Florida Bar. While McClendon denies sending the messages, he did not provide evidence sufficient to demonstrate to The Florida Bar’s satisfaction that his Instagram account had been compromised. As of today, The Florida Bar has terminated McClendon’s employment.
There's a new version of this post
Imagine if when he was working on this business in his dorm room, someone told him that the company would one day lose a 25 billion dollar lawsuit. And he'd easily be able to shake it off.
Breaking News: Meta must pay $25 billion, one of the largest penalties levied against the tech giant, for deceiving users about data privacy. nyti.ms/4yvv5yZ
Putting aside the specifics of that “loss” (which is kind of complicated, dealing with convertible notes, and whatnot), that’s a funny joke.
Anthropic plans to give each kid in America portion of its $80B in losses.
Yet another law school fact pattern:
“A Florida shop owner intentionally mowed down a 14-year-old boy on his e-bike because he thought he’d tried to break into his convenience store.”

#twittersupperclub, one I made a little while back: potstickers with a dipping sauce 🥟
It'll go public in November, probably at a staggering valuation. Maybe around $2,000,000,000,000. Or, $1,500,000,000,000 at the lowest, I'd say.
🚨 Anthropic could make its IPO filing public as soon as Friday, according to three people familiar with the plans.
The listing could top SpaceX’s June debut as the biggest IPO ever, making it a big test of how much investors still want AI.

More specifically, it's trying to be kind in its criticism:
I write my own answer to any essay I assign to a student so that I can then send that answer to the student. I've started sending my own answers to ChatGPT for feedback:
"This is a high scoring answer, but there are multiple areas that can earn an even higher score."
Well damn. I'm right back in law school getting constructive feedback from the professor. 😭😂

Apparently, Ohio rounds up. Florida...not so much.

When something that happens at the bar exam is the exact issue that could be tested on a bar exam Torts essay:
“'While Hofstra sympathizes with the Plaintiff for the medical episode she suffered,' the school wrote in a filing with the court, 'the dismissal of Plaintiff’s complaint is warranted as Hofstra did not owe a legal duty to provide any first aid assistance to the plaintiff.'"

As for 3 below, if someone apologizes, even if one took an earlier position that that person has no reason to apologize, it seems curious to me for that person to presume the apology is not genuine (in the sense of only doing so because advised).
It’s as likely that the person in question believes that what he did was wrong, even if an outsider to the event still refuses to believe that.

1, If he didnt agree, that wouldn't affect your position. So if he does agree, why should that affect mine?
2, He can genuinely feel sorry without having actually been in the wrong.
3, There are people looking for his neck. He's being advised to apologize.
