Today we’re launching doxx.net, enabling Agentic Defined Networking for everyone. We raised $38M from @a16z, @AnimoVentures and Focal.vc.
Create private networks for you and your AI agents, without a server in the middle. 38M+ threats blocked since December.
Our first private-network call was a freedom call. Now it’s your turn.
Great discussions last night @nanog . Thanks to all who came out.
Thanks @refreshmiami !
Another BIG raise for Miami Tech! 🚀
This Miami startup just secured a $38 MILLION Series A to tackle one of the biggest security challenges of the AI era.
And the investors? None other than Andreessen Horowitz, and TWO Miami-based VCs.
As AI agents gain access to more of our personal information and take on increasingly complex tasks, keeping that information secure is becoming more important than ever.
So how is this Miami company tackling this challenge? Watch & find out. 👇

Caught up with @TechJournalist @NetworkWorld to share more about what we're doing, and how we're doing it (super efficiently) at doxxnet
I've had the good fortune to connect with @BarrettLyon multiple times over the last two decades (Prolexic, Defense.net and Netography among others)..but AI isn't like any of those prior networking vendors it changes....everything. Get ready for Agentic Defined Networking

Thank you for all the support and community @thelabmiami . Let's go!!
Miami keeps producing bigger swings 🔥
doxx.net is out of stealth with a $38M Series A led by @a16z, building the new internet w/a private network for the agentic era.
Proud we backed @BarrettLyon early.
Built in Miami 🚀
Great chatting with @MTSlive about our launch. Starts at 5:53:30 mark. Thank you for having me 🙏

Privacy was already broken on the internet. The agentic era is about to make it a lot worse.
Thanks to @axios for the exclusive on our $38M Series A led by @a16z.

@DoxxnetHQ is building something meaningful: what the internet should have been. @BarrettLyon is a legend in the space and a true wunderkind of a technologist. I’ve known Nicolai for a decade and his track record in infrastructure is unique.
Add @YODELAGARZA & @martin_casado from @a16z the leading infrastructure investors of this cycle—and you have something pretty special.
The fact that a company this sophisticated is being built here is a testament to just how far Miami tech has come.
People don't understand data centers at all...
.@DoxxnetHQ founder Barrett Lyon on data center myths versus reality: jobs, talent, and faster internet.
"That's the other thing that's driving me crazy, is people don't understand data centers at all... Data centers have been around for a very, very long time."
"People are being manipulated with this data center thing... It's very interesting to be in the know and then watch this and go, oh my goodness, these people are missing the mark."
"The big data center park in Virginia, you just see bunny rabbits in the field. There's nothing. It's just a big building and a bunch of parking lot and then nothing."
"It brings jobs. The people that work in them aren't getting paid pennies. And it also brings high tech talent. And then also infrastructure, and infrastructure powers everything you do. So if you have a data center nearby, your internet's faster. Things like that work better."
@BarrettLyon @YODELAGARZA
I sat down with @YODELAGARZA to chat more in-depth about what we're building @DoxxnetHQ
.@BarrettLyon built the first cloud DDoS-protection service, mapped the entire internet (now on display in New York's Museum of Modern Art), and got chased out of Moscow hunting Russian extortionists.
His new company is doxx.net, a parallel internet designed to keep advertisers, trackers, and creepy VPNs out of your life.
Barrett joins a16z's Joel de la Garza to explain what it is and how it works: a private network where messages, calls, and files travel directly between people instead of through someone else's server, and where nobody needs your name, number, or email to reach you.
They also get into why most VPNs are "just entry and exit points," why you can't set policy on equipment you don't own, the day Barrett's plane lost power over Oakland on the way home from a16z, and the data center myths that drive him crazy.

@BarrettLyon @YODELAGARZA
We're excited to lead doxxnet's Series A.
AI has made it dramatically easier to collect information about people, and agents acting on our behalf expand the surface area we need to protect.
@DoxxnetHQ gives people and their agents a parallel, private network they can build on: browse privately, transfer files directly, connect devices and agents into encrypted meshes, and communicate peer to peer.
@BarrettLyon helped pioneer the modern DDoS defense industry with Prolexic, and has spent more than two decades building networks and defending them against attackers.
Welcome Barrett Lyon and the doxxnet team!

Join the free open beta: doxx.net, or have your agent visit config.doxx.net to explain it to you.
The agentic era needs secure networking.
Block known malicious destinations before an agent connects. Define what it can reach. Keep its communications direct when they should be direct.
Give people and their agents a network they actually control!
Why does sending a file usually mean uploading it to a company first? You have the file. Your friend has a device. The internet should be able to connect the two.
A file transfer should not need a cloud bucket, a download link, or a retention policy.

Last week, we hosted the first Miami Founder Summit together with @thelabmiami.
60 Miami-based, venture backed founders together in a room for an afternoon for amazing sessions and conversations led by @ClemDelangue, @nejatian & @BarrettLyon.
It's amazing to see how many great people have moved / continue to move here. Now we just need them to update their LinkedIn to Miami too 😉.
Thank you to those who came and to @ayalstern and the team at The LAB for being such great partners on this.
