ALT 3 FAFSA Deadlines You Need to Know The COLLEGE Deadline Many schools have their own financial aid programs. To be eligible for their student aid, make sure to turn in your FAFSA form before your college’s deadline. Ask the schools that you’re applying to or visit their financial aid website. The STATE Deadline States have limited funds for grants and scholarships, so if you don’t get your FAFSA form in before their deadline, you could be leaving money on the table. Go to fafsa.gov and scroll down the webpage until you see the headline for FAFSA deadlines. Use the text boxes to select your state and academic year to see your deadlines. The FEDERAL Deadline The federal deadline comes at the end of the academic year. If you missed the other deadlines, you can still apply for federal student aid for the past academic year. For the 2021–22 academic year, the deadline to submit your FAFSA form is June 30, 2022. For the 2022–23 academic year, the deadline is June 30, 2023.
