Thank you to all the hard working @FloridaAPD staff who worked today at the Sunland Marianna Fall Festival. Hundreds had a great time b/c of your dedication.

Today was the perfect day to take 6 veterans on @Dreamflight rides on an Army WWII biplane trainer. Thank you @FHCA for making this happen!

Future Pathways Fl is a valuable APD Florida @FloridaAPD partner currently placing over 100 individuals with disabilities in Big Bend Area jobs. Thank you Amanda and Abby!

Combining intensive speech, occupational, and physical therapies, w a meaningful education plan is critical for our young Floridians with physical and developmental disabilities. @FloridaAPD partner No Limits Academy in Melbourne is an innovative leader in this therapy.

Continuing the theme of the importance of meaningful employment, I met with @FloridaAPD partner BAC in Rockledge, who places hundreds of  individuals with disabilities in meaningful jobs along the East Coast. 

Employment and Life Skills Training is so important for the individuals served by @FloridaAPD. That is why I am so proud of our partners Freedom Home Health Services in Ellington & the MacDonald Training Center in Tampa.

It was a great way to start the first real fall day w the @IndLandingFL Beyond Limits Adventure 5K. Jane Blatz Johnson & Barby Moro did a great job creating 12 fun challenges. Coming in 1st was also fun too!

A big thank you to Family Care Council Area 4 for the 10th Connecting the Dots conference in Jax. It was great interacting with family members and self advocates. Special shout out to the @FloridaAPD team who spent the entire day answering questions and assisting families.

I am so proud of the @FloridaAPD staff who forward deployed to the State EOC & Multi-Agency Resource Centers in the hurricane impact areas. So glad our Agency can assist those with storm damage/without power.

Today Barbara Diaz & Laura Teran,with It Takes a Village Key Biscayne did an outstanding job connecting families with private and govt reps & advocates at its Inclusion and Disabilities Symposium. Ty for including me on the panel & spending time with so many family members.

Congratulations to Samantha Vance and Ladies Learning to Lead - L3 for 15 years of support for young ladies. It has been a privilege to serve on its Board.

Last night I had a great time having dinner with 600 friends @ Disney for The @TheArcofFlorida Advocacy Days. Enjoy Animal Kingdom!!!

I had good discussions with the board of the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis, as they work to be a leader for the profession. Also, learned much meeting with @FloridaAPD behavioral analyst staff in Orlando.

Was a good day spent with @FloridaAPD provider partners at the @floridaarf Conference in Clearwater. Special shoutout to the 3 who joined me for a beach run at 0630! 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏃 🏃‍♂️

Thank you @floridaarf for presenting me with 2026 Excellence in Public Service Award. I am happy to accept it on behalf of the hard working @FloridaAPD staff, who do great things every day.

Giving people w developmental disabilities the fullest life requires people w heart. Yesterday I recognized 1 of the @FloridaAPD staff for going above and beyond. Today, I met with Vision of Hope in Milton who ensure their clients are trained and placed in meaningful jobs.

Bravo Zulu to the @FloridaAPD CDC+ team who went above and beyond today assisting a client and family in distress.

I enjoyed spending time with the clients and staff of @FloridaAPD’s partner, the Primrose Center, which has been providing services to people in the Orlando area for nearly 75 years.
