BCR ISSUE 19 is here!
Featuring 201 pages of gorgeous fiction, poetry, non-fiction, hybrid work, a folio of new Tomaž Šalamun translations by Brian Henry, and visual art. We can’t wait for you to meet it ✨
ALT A back and front cover of a magazine, Bat City Review, lay on bright green grass in the sun. The front cover is a collage with two red cutouts of human figures, leaning into each other atop a rock-like structure, on a textured faint background of pink inside a bigger black frame. The back cover peaks out from underneath the top copy and shows a long list of contributors' names running down the left side.

Congratulations to Sarah Matthes, managing editor of @BatCityReview and 2022 #HamiltonBookAwards nominee!
Neither elegies nor odes, the poems in “Town Crier” express the pervasive nature of loss and how it suffuses all aspects of a life: memories, hopes, love, sex, lunch.
