“Creative privilege” is an interesting concept. If I understand it correctly, it’s the luxury of having the opportunity to learn through trial and error. To practice, build momentum, gain confidence, and try again. Eventually, you succeed. And that success gives you the confidence to do it again. But read it for yourself. 👇
I spoke this morning at VDS about AI in creative practice, and I said that AI does not, and will not, democratise creativity. Quite a few people in the audience talked with me after about this. So, it seems like a good time to start sharing! Links ⬇️🧵

Want to use @decentraland Creator Hub directly with your agent? The MCP config works like freaking magic. In Creator Hub, click on the top right DCL icon. Choose: Settings -> AI Then scroll to "Expose AI assistant MCP server" Paste the code into your agent. Done.

1/9 The past three months in #Decentraland have been some of the most fun I've had in five years. Today, October 15, marks the end of a personal three-month challenge: explore, build, participate, and discover what's possible. I'm excited about what comes next.

The cat is out of the bag. @BayBackner just did something quite significant. She documented the actual tools and workflow she uses to build scenes in #Decentraland. I've been talking about these tools for months, and many of them are already listed on Swissverse. But I've never published my complete building process. Now Bay has put hers out there. And I think this changes things. For a brief moment, knowing how to use AI to build gave people a rather unusual advantage. Suddenly, people who had never written much code were creating entire worlds, games, and experiences. People wondered how they were doing it. Well, now there's a recipe. And the funny part is what happens next. If you've always wanted to build something in Decentraland but didn't know where to begin, you now have a process you can follow. The tools are accessible. The workflow is documented. The barrier to getting started has dropped dramatically. Which raises a rather awkward question for those of us who have enjoyed our little head start: What happens when everybody knows how to do it? I think we're about to find out.
Last Friday, the @decentraland @RegenesisLabs teams held an internal hackathon. Why? We’re building AI-assisted workflows to help you make games, and we wanted to stress-test them, rough edges and all. My entry: Senet Tomb 🏺 Here’s what I learned 🧵

1/4 One month into @decentraland Creator Success applications, and 25 excellent game ideas submitted. But here's what surprised me: I've had to ask more than half of the studios to go back and complete Step 1. The requirement? Play other people's games before building your own. Here's why it matters. 👇

1/ *Weekly Recap: "Players do not read" Edition* 👀 Every week I run milestone playtests with small game studios in @decentraland's Creator Success program, and the same lessons keep coming up. Other studios might benefit from them too. Here's what I learned this week about onboarding, multiplayer design, mobile and knowing when to stop 👇

After spending hundreds of hours on one Decentraland game project and maxing out 2 AI plans along the way, these are 3 of the biggest things I've learned, and honestly, they're still areas I'm working to improve myself: 1. Long-term progression matters Is your game something players enjoy for 5 minutes, or something they want to return to tomorrow? Good progression should make players feel like their time mattered. Rewards, unlocks, and end-game systems should give them a reason to keep going without making that time feel wasted. 2. Design for players who don’t speak your language Text-heavy UI creates friction fast. Use icons, colors, imagery, and universally understood interactions wherever possible. If your game relies heavily on text, add language selection and localization. If players don't understand what's happening, they probably won't stick around long enough to enjoy it. 3. Reliability is part of game design A fun game that randomly breaks, disconnects, or becomes unavailable will still lose players. Choose a tech stack you trust. Stability, uptime, and predictable multiplayer behavior matter just as much as mechanics and visuals. I'm still improving all three of these in Drop Party. Fun gets someone in the door. Progression, accessibility, and reliability are what make them come back.
🎉 DROP PARTY CASTLE is OPEN! My Friendzone Buildathon entry is live in @decentraland It's an AFK-style balloon-blowing mini-game with: 🫂Social XP bonuses 📈Level progression 🪁Craftable rewards with perks 🎉Drop Parties every 12 hours Come hang out, help us blow up some balloons, and be there when the prizes start dropping. 🎈🎁 /goto DropParty.dcl.eth
