It’s a beautiful day to set sail with the next pieces of Neutron flight hardware to Launch Complex 3.
Earlier today we sent Neutron’s Stage 2 and Thrust Module out of the Neutron Factory and onto a barge for transport through Chesapeake Bay to Wallops Island in Virginia.
Once it arrives, the Thrust Module will go straight onto the launch mount at LC-3 for check outs and the beginning of wider systems demonstrations including integrated fluids tests and module-to-launch-mount interface checkouts. With no strongback on the launch mount by design, Neutron’s Thrust Module is the rocket’s only physical interface to the launch pad, which this upcoming test campaign enables us to test early before the entire vehicle comes together.
Keith Sherman joined our drone flight demo team as a Senior UAS/cUAS Autonomous Systems Operator. He spent 26 years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Senior Chief, most of that career in Naval Special Warfare.
He was Air Operations Leading Chief for SEAL and Special Boat Teams and a military freefall jumpmaster with over 600 jumps. He has worked with unmanned systems since the RQ-2 Pioneer and holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
Keith Sherman. Built for the fight.

Big news: Joby is scheduled to fly our electric air taxi in Florida this Friday, October 30th, and everyone’s invited.
In 1914, the world’s first commercial flight lifted off the water in St. Petersburg and crossed Tampa Bay.
This week, we fly that route again.
Same bay, a very different aircraft. But one thing hasn’t changed: no runway necessary.
Come relive history and be part of a new chapter.
