STOP THE CENSORSHIP BILL!
Here are some paste-ready options (2–4 sentences each), that you can attach to the template in the attached post.
Copy the relevant block and paste it directly after “I recommend the Committee reject the Bill.” in the template.
Please share and help to stop the increasingly authoritarian Labor Party.
___________________________________________
Option 1 – Veteran / service background:
As a former member of the Australian Defence Force I took an oath to defend the freedoms of this country, including the ability of citizens to criticise government policy without fear of arbitrary suppression. The Bill’s vague definition of “seriously harmful material and conduct,” combined with penalties large enough to force platforms into over-compliance, creates a clear risk that lawful discussion of national security, veterans’ issues, immigration and accountability will be demoted or removed. Existing criminal laws already deal with illegal content; this measure is not required for that purpose and will chill the open debate that a free society depends on. ___________________________________________
Option 2 – Parent:
As a parent I support strong action against illegal material that harms children, but this Bill goes far beyond that. Its broad Digital Duty of Care and extreme civil penalties will incentivise platforms to remove or restrict ordinary parental discussion of education, health, gender and culture simply to reduce regulatory risk. The result will be less information for families, not more protection, while the Commissioner’s expanded powers increase the chance of viewpoint-based decisions about what parents may see and share. ___________________________________________
Option 3 – Small business / self-employed:
My livelihood depends on reliable access to online platforms for advertising, customer communication and ordinary commercial speech. The Bill’s combination of vague “serious harm” standards and penalties up to $109 million will push platforms to err on the side of removal, raising costs and uncertainty for small operators who cannot afford compliance teams or legal challenges. Existing criminal laws already cover illegal content; this additional duty is not necessary and will disproportionately burden legitimate business and political expression. ___________________________________________
Option 4 – Ordinary citizen / free-speech focus:
I have already seen platforms throttle or remove lawful posts on elections, public health, immigration and religious topics under existing rules. Expanding that pressure through a broad statutory duty, extreme penalties and wider Commissioner powers will make it even harder for ordinary Australians to engage in open political debate. Criminal law is the correct tool for illegal content; a vague duty of care is not, and it risks turning routine disagreement into something platforms treat as a compliance problem. ___________________________________________
Option 5 – Religious or traditional viewpoint:
Traditional religious and cultural views on family, sex and moral questions are already frequently treated as “harmful” by platforms and activist groups. The Bill’s vague definitions and high penalties will intensify that pressure, giving platforms a strong incentive to demote or remove lawful religious and political expression to avoid risk. Protecting children from illegal material does not require giving regulators and platforms this degree of discretionary power over contested but lawful speech.

STOP THE CENSORSHIP BILL!
The Senate is taking submissions on Labor’s Authoritarian Online Safety Amendment (Digital Duty of Care) Bill 2026 until 30 October 2026.
This bill creates a vague “Digital Duty of Care” on online platforms, backed by penalties up to $109 million and expanded powers for the eSafety Commissioner. It pressures platforms to over-censor lawful political, religious and dissenting speech under the banner of “serious harm.”
Protecting children from illegal content does not require a blank cheque to suppress debate.
Make your own submission in under 10 minutes.

Submission of Objection
Online Safety Amendment (Digital Duty of Care) Bill 2026
Senate Environment and Communications Legislation Committee
I am an Australian citizen writing to oppose this Bill.
The Bill imposes an overly broad Digital Duty of Care that will incentivise platforms to remove or demote lawful speech. Vague definitions of “seriously harmful material and conduct,” extreme civil penalties, and expanded eSafety powers (including pseudonymous accounts) create a clear risk of political and viewpoint-based censorship. Existing criminal laws already address illegal content.
I recommend the Committee reject the Bill.

2.4K posts speaking about what our corrupt government is putting an Australian mum through.
Don't stop speaking about it, push her story far and wide.
Today it's Holly, tomorrow it could be you.
Holly, a mother from the NSW Central Coast, is facing up to five years in prison after being arrested and charged by the AFP with six counts of publicly displaying a prohibited Nazi symbol.
Each count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 12 months in jail, with a maximum of five years.
As if this situation wasn't stressful enough, she is going through a separation now making her a single mother fighting these unjust laws independently. Holly needs to be able to keep her freedom so she can work and raise her 14 year old daughter.
If you believe in free speech and that posting online should not result in mandatory jail please consider contributing. Holly needs us and our support.
We have found her legal representation but it will be costly.

This is a person regularly platformed as an "extremism expert" by the ABC and the state-funded corporate media.
When you strip away the "I'm just a concerned researcher" act, there's nothing left but cruelty and malice - she wants mothers torn away from their children and locked in cells for years for expressing their political opinions on the internet.
Don't underestimate how evil these people are, and the amount of pain they would inflict upon you if they could.

Let's get everyone speaking about this!
This isn't right, Holly is just a mum who wants what's best for her country and child's future.
Anthony Albanese is using media and the police to apparently turn down the temperature of politics in Australia. However he only offers his own temperature. This is not how democracy works.
The state, under Albo's capture of the security forces and media are coming for anyone holding onto foundational Australia. The machine wants us gone. While machete wielding foreign youth get bail, they find any excuse to charge the "far right".

A 44-year-old Australian mother is facing up to 5 years in prison for reposting Nazi material.
She did not rape or attack anyone with a machete, nor did she even call for violence. She reposted material that contained swastikas on it.
Oh no!
This symbol may be loaded for some but displaying it should not result in prison time. How ridiculous. See they do not ban communist symbols. What will they ban next? The Christian cross? 🤔 hmm.
I am very much against this prosecution & am pro-free speech - so please consider helping to support Holly with what you can here: givesendgo.com/help-fight-fo…

Aussie mother faces 5 years jail for simply reposting videos that contained a symbol.
Meanwhile, pedo’s & rapists receive no jail time & foreign murderers receive less prison time for killing Aussies.
Our laws & justice system has been weaponised & provides no justice. Our justice system is not fit for purpose.
Words/ symbols = Jail
Rape/ violent crimes = Bail

It has been almost two weeks since MP Dan Repacholi made a post about one of the @FightForAust stickers he saw in Cessnock.
Since then there have been over 20 articles/videos made by various media outlets, several of them owned or written by Indians and the number continues to grow.
They've claimed the stickers are racist and hateful and need to be investigated, some have even said they want us jailed.
Let's take another look at the contents of the sticker in question.

You have come to our country at a time that many Australians are struggling to find work and accommodation.
Many of you have disrespected us and our land, some of you have committed crimes and now you are all calling for the censorship of Australians voices.
You are demanding we be jailed for speaking about factual events, asking a question or demanding remigration.
