This is the note you find in an Umbrella lab before you’re attacked by a zombie dog.
JUST IN: Palmer Luckey's genetically modified military dog startup, Warhound, comes out of stealth, aiming to create enhanced canines for the U.S. military.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is NOT Palmer's company at all, his company Anduril is only supplying the tech for the dogs, and this is a wholly owed Collosal entiity

Well, I guess it’s good I’ve been working on this indie game with a smaller team because, god, it might as well be a literal battle royale to get a full time job at a current established studio.
EA it’s not too late to just say sike.
A purported BioWare developer has leaked a trailer for the cancelled ME 5 on Reddit.
The footage, reportedly titled "MASS EFFECT UNIVERSE," appears to suggest the project was further along in development.
Its authenticity remains unverified.

in the same week we are seeing steam next fest full of ai slop projects, epic games doubling down on an ai first mindset, all while watching historic studios get shuttered with hundreds of people now added to the already thousands of laid off devs
this is the future of gaming
My (probably dumb) design solution to mid boss would be disable ultimates in the entire mid boss arena. Make it another type of shroud or mist like in plaza but this one turns off your ultimate. Most rejuv AoE issues come from ults and it would make contests more interesting imo
Lots of talk about AoE slop in Deadlock right now
While I do agree it’s a bit excessive, I think the current state of mid-boss/rejuv makes the problem 100x worse
Such an important, often game winning objective being tied to an inclosed room where you have to all melee a single point of course makes it so powerful AoE abilities determine it all
We know mid-boss is long past due for a complete overhaul
Maybe whatever changes it brings, will also make it so AoE abilities aren’t so essential, and allow for other skills to determine the outcome
Hopefully it won’t be too long until we get those changes, but it’s definitely getting old quick
NURSE HARROW IS SO SICK, HER BAG IS JUST AN ELDRITCH ABOMINATION YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

The first game a game studio makes is usually the most time-consuming, and game a studio ever makes. But it could also be the investment that makes the next 3 games possible at a fraction of the development effort. That shit can't happen if you layoff your team after a launch.
From a design perspective, I think the PVE mode is fun, but it really *really* loses a lot of the tension you get from the normal version. You can def tell a lot of the Pendola Pass stuff was more designed for a PvE experience, where the other maps really struggle with it imo
A lot of this comes from The previous at launch activities becoming comically trivialized in PVE only. Which isnt the fault of the devs since they were making it for a PvPvE experience, but if they lean more into PVE I think Pendola is a good example of where to go design-wise.
The whole AI debate for games is fascinating to watch if only because almost every post I see showing off an AI game is never about the design, player experience, intentions behind it, etc
It’s usually just look at what AI did, here are the prompts, adapt or die, death of AAA
Sold out in 20 minutes lol lmao. Idk why i ever thought I could get one.
Something I’ve discovered as a mostly self taught level designer is
A) The level of self reliance helped me develop my own style that does feel like an expression of myself
B) I do feel like im missing out at times not really having a mentor or anything like that.
I know it’s very very unlikely but it’d be kinda funny if this game ended out selling GTA
Nintendo Latin America Vice President says The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is “a global phenomenon” and they are running of of product worldwide!
"Well, if we expected it, we wouldn’t be in that situation, right? At least not to this extent. I will tell you that it’s a global phenomenon. We have this issue absolutely everywhere. We apologize for that. That certainly is not the intent. We underestimated how well it would be received. And there’s certainly some markets that stand out.
The United States did extremely well as well. It’s a global phenomenon where they’re running out of product. The pre-sales are hitting their max, and certainly that’s what happened to us in Brazil.
We are working on replenishments of the special hardware and the software, but it’ll take a little bit of time. So I’m going to use this on you now: please be patient. But yeah, to answer your question, it caught us by surprise. We expected a positive response, but the magnitude, I mean, it’s amazing.”

I love greybox levels so much. Probably my favorite step in the entire level design process. Just constantly building and reshaping and iterating like trying to build the perfect lego framework
