Blatant misuse of government platforms by the @INCKarnataka government in Karnataka! In Hubballi, a publicly funded event was hijacked by Congress leaders and officials — turned into a full-fledged party show. Party banners on stage, Quran recitation in a government function, and officials themselves behaving like Congress workers. The Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Commissioner Rudresh Ghali and Zilla Panchayat CEO Bhuvanesh Patil participated like party guests instead of enforcing government protocol. This is a serious breach of administrative ethics and a misuse of taxpayer money. I’ve written to the Chief Secretary @shalinirajnish demanding an enquiry and immediate action against the concerned officials. I am appalled by the Congress government’s complete lack of empathy for the common man. Instead of tackling corruption, inefficiency and bloated administrative costs in the various milk federations, cutting waste and passing on the benefits to consumers, this government has chosen to protect a broken system and make ordinary families pay more. The same story repeats across essential services. Birth and death certificate charges, electricity tariffs, milk prices and now bus fares have all gone up. These are not luxuries but basic necessities that the poor, working class and middle class depend on every day. Yet, this government seems least bothered about the burden it is imposing on them. Congress promised five guarantees. But the only guarantee I see being delivered consistently is the PRICE RISE GUARANTEE! How long will Kannadigas be made to pay for this government’s corruption, inefficiency and failure to govern?

Karnataka is not the personal fiefdom of DK Shivakumar and the @INCKarnataka government, where prices can be raised at will and ordinary people are expected to quietly foot the bill! In just the last few weeks, Kannadigas have been hit with a series of price increases. Nandini toned milk has gone up from ₹46 to ₹54 per litre, curd from ₹54 to ₹68 per kg, and now bus fares are set to rise by 23% across state transport corporations, with BMTC fares increasing by up to 35%. From the kitchen to the daily commute, the burden on household budgets keeps mounting. Congress came to power promising relief through its guarantees. Instead, people are witnessing a relentless rise in the cost of living, with even the most basic necessities becoming more expensive. Governance is not about making announcements and recovering the cost from people’s pockets. Karnataka belongs to its people, not to those occupying positions of power. DK Shivakumar and the Congress government owe Kannadigas an answer: how many more price hikes will you impose before you admit that your guarantee politics has failed the very people who trusted you? #CongressFailsKarnataka

ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಾಸ್ತವಿಕ ಸತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯಾನಂತರ ರಾಜಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹಣ ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬರಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ಕರ್ತರು ಯಾಕೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಡುವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ. ಹಿಂದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಎಲೆಕ್ಷನ್ ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಹೊಲ ಮಾರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ಆದರೆ ಇಂದು ಎಲೆಕ್ಷನ್ ಗೆದ್ದೇ ಆಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡುವಂತಹ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಬಂತು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಿದೆ. ನನ್ನ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ವಾದವೇನೆಂದರೆ, ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಅಡಿಪಾಯ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದೇ ಇಂದಿರಾ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ. ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಪ್ಪಲೇಬೇಕಾದ ವಾಸ್ತವವೆಂದರೆ "ರಾಜಕಾರಣ ಕೇವಲ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವೆ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಅದೊಂದು ಪ್ರೊಫೆಷನ್ (ವೃತ್ತಿ)". ದಿನದ 24 ಗಂಟೆಯೂ ರಾಜಕಾರಣದಲ್ಲೇ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಯ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಹೇಗೆ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕು? ಒಂದು ಲಕ್ಷ ಜನರ ರ‍್ಯಾಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲು ಕನಿಷ್ಠ 10,000 ವಾಹನಗಳು ಬೇಕು; ಇಂತಹ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ವಾಸ್ತವಿಕ ಖರ್ಚಿನ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಾವು ಕಣ್ಣು ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಕೂರುವಂತಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇ. 80-85% ರಷ್ಟು ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರ ಇರುವುದು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ (ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ RTO ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯ 3 ಫ್ಲ್ಯಾಟ್‌ಗಳ ಕಥೆ). ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಈ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕುಸಿದ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯೇ ಮೂಲ ಕಾರಣವಲ್ಲವೇ? ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಇಂದಿನ ತುರ್ತು ಅಗತ್ಯವೆಂದರೆ 'ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕುಸಿತ' ಹಾಗೂ 'ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಫಂಡಿಂಗ್' ಕುರಿತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರವ್ಯಾಪಿ ಮುಕ್ತ ಚರ್ಚೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು.

ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಎನ್‌ಡಿಎ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಾಧಿಸಿರುವ ಭರ್ಜರಿ ಗೆಲುವು, ರಾಜ್ಯ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಭರವಸೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ದುರಾಡಳಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ನೀಡಿದ ತಕ್ಕ ಶಾಸ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಇವಿಎಂ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ನಡೆಯಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಬ್ಯಾಲೆಟ್ ಬಾಕ್ಸ್ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ನಡೆಯಲಿ, ಜನರ ಒಲವು ಹಾಗೂ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಸದಾ ಕಾಲ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಪರವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಈ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಜನವಿರೋಧಿ ನೀತಿಗಳಿಂದ ರೋಸಿಹೋಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞಾವಂತ ಜನತೆ ಈ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲ. ಜಯ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಶೀಲ್ ನಮೋಶಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಎಸ್‌. ವಿ ಸಂಕನೂರ, ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ.ಎಂ ಸುರೇಶ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಎನ್‌ಡಿಎ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಎ.ಪಿ ರಂಗನಾಥ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಅಭಿನಂದನೆಗಳು.

This image is a glaring reflection of the Gandhi family’s arrogance and Congress’s culture of servility! Publicly humiliating Mallikarjun Kharge, a veteran leader with five decades of political experience and the president of a national party, raises serious questions about the dignity and respect Congress affords its own leadership. Has Kharge’s position been reduced to pleasing the Gandhi family at the cost of his own self-respect? If this is how senior leaders are treated in public, one can only imagine the culture behind closed doors. This is not respect for seniority; it is the arrogance of a dynasty that expects unquestioning obedience. A party that cannot respect its own president can hardly claim to respect the people of India!

Congress’s double standards on Starlink expose the hollowness of its politics. When Jairam Ramesh questioned Elon Musk’s entry into India, he raised national security concerns and accused the PM of facilitating the deal to please Donald Trump. Today, Rahul Gandhi welcomes Musk with a sarcastic “Wait till you discover the other guy.” So what changed? The issue remains the same, but Congress’s political messaging has changed with the audience. Yesterday, Starlink was a national security concern. Today, it is an opportunity for Rahul Gandhi to take a cheap swipe at the Prime Minister. A party that cannot maintain consistency on its own arguments has little credibility lecturing others on transparency and accountability. For Congress, national security is not a principle to uphold, but a convenient weapon to attack the BJP. When outrage is dictated by political convenience, it is not accountability. It is hypocrisy.

The CJP protest in Bengaluru exposed a familiar problem with performative activism: the noise on social media often far exceeds the enthusiasm on the ground. For all the celebrity endorsements, grand speeches and warnings about democracy collapsing, yesterday’s gathering hardly matched the scale of the hype. Apparently, virality and public mobilisation are two very different things. The real test of democratic conviction is consistency. When the Supreme Court flags serious electoral irregularities in Punjab and orders fresh elections in 50 municipal wards, the same self proclaimed defenders of democracy should be equally vocal. Constitutional principles cannot come with a party preference. Democracy is not a political prop to be brought out when it suits a narrative and put away when it becomes inconvenient. Nor can a handful of prominent faces claim to represent the conscience of an entire city. Yesterday’s protest may have generated headlines, but the larger question remains: where was the overwhelming public response that all the hype had led us to expect? You can organise a rally, recruit celebrities and dominate the timeline. You cannot manufacture a mass movement simply by declaring one.

Our government has given constitutional recognition to the OBC commission and we’re also getting the caste census done, this will give us strong empirical data. The call regarding reservations will need to be made based on the data and this is also in line with our Sanatana Dharma, which advocates for revisiting issues periodically and not being stuck anywhere!

Congress needs to remember the history before speaking about OBC reservations, they never implemented the Mandal Commission report when they were in power, it was the Janta Dal govt that did it. Similarly, our PM is the longest serving OBC PM, can congress assure an OBC will become the PM instead of Rahul Gandhi, if they come to power?

The discussion about OBC reservation is nothing new, it was deliberated even by the constituent assembly and was decided that a commission needs to be formed to determine who is OBC and the percentage of reservation for the OBCs, not link it to the percentage of the population! Having said that, we should be open to these discussions and discuss these things every now and then!

At the India Today Conclave South, I reiterated a fundamental point: OBC reservation is necessary, but reservation must be a means of empowerment, not an end in itself. If we are serious about social justice, we need empirical data on the educational, economic and entrepreneurial progress of every OBC community. Who has benefited? Who remains excluded? Which communities continue to face genuine barriers? These questions cannot be answered through political slogans or electoral arithmetic. Reservation must translate into representation, opportunity, dignity and real social mobility, while remaining firmly rooted in our Constitution. And Congress needs to answer a simple question: where was this commitment to OBC empowerment when the Mandal Commission recommendations were being implemented? Its leadership opposed the implementation then; today, it wants to present itself as the champion of the OBC cause. Talking about OBCs when politically convenient is easy. Standing up for their representation and empowerment is the real test. OBC empowerment cannot be reduced to slogans. The students protesting in Dharwad are not asking for favours. They are demanding justice, transparency and a fair opportunity. I raised their concerns in the Assembly and stand firmly with their demands: • Cancel and review all appointments made by the present KPSC body since 2023, wherever the integrity of the selection process is in question • Take action against every KPSC member found responsible, on the same lines as action taken against the suspended Chairman • Grant appropriate age relaxation to genuine aspirants who have lost crucial years because of recruitment delays and irregularities • Allow the SIT to conduct a completely independent, impartial and time bound investigation, bringing every lapse, manipulation and person responsible to light The Karnataka High Court has itself recognised the gravity of the allegations and has constituted an independent SIT with a 100 day deadline. Our students have spent years preparing for government examinations. Their hard work, merit and future cannot be sacrificed because of failures within KPSC. Justice for every genuine aspirant. Accountability for every person responsible.
