After an exchange incident, a fake offer to help can become the next loss.
Watch for:
→ unsolicited “support” DMs
→ “refund” or “compensation” claim sites
→ paid “fund recovery” offers
→ links asking you to “verify” or “synchronize” your wallet
Before you click, connect or sign:
1. Find the official source yourself.
Open the service through a trusted bookmark or known address. Check the announcement there. Do not use the link supplied by the person contacting you. A copied logo or urgent deadline is not proof.
2. Keep your recovery material private.
No support agent needs your seed phrase or private key. Never put either in a DM, ticket, screenshot or compensation form. Enter recovery material only when you deliberately restore a wallet in verified wallet software on your own trusted device.
3. Read the request inside the wallet.
Connecting, signing a message and approving a transaction are different actions. Check which site is asking and what the request authorizes. For a payment, verify the chain, recipient, amount and fee. If the request is unexpected or you cannot understand it, reject it. A genuine wallet pop-up does not make the requesting site trustworthy.
4. Do not pay a stranger to “release” your money.
Upfront recovery fees and guaranteed refunds are warning signs. Verify any claims process through the affected service’s official channels. An unsolicited payment demand is not made legitimate by calling it a “verification fee.”
Already interacted? Stop using the suspicious page and reject any pending requests. Keep the messages and transaction IDs for official support. If you exposed a seed phrase or private key, treat the affected wallet or account as compromised. Changing its password does not remove someone else's access to those keys.
Nintondo will never DM you first or ask for your seed phrase or private key.
For Nintondo support, open our official website yourself and choose Resources → Support.
Self-custody gives you control of the keys. Check who is asking. Check what you sign.
