How do you remove an INTERPOL Red Notice? The short version, from an INTERPOL Red Notice lawyer.
A politically motivated prosecution usually looks like an ordinary case: a charge, a file, a prosecutor, a courtroom. The hallmarks: a target whose interests run against the state, charges too complex to unravel or too broad to mean anything, a court that decided before it sat.
IHR Advisors is the practice Rhys Davies and I built for the cases national courts cannot reach: INTERPOL notices, politically motivated prosecutions, arbitrary detention, sanctions, UN and regional human rights bodies. London and The Hague. ihr-advisors.com
A Red Notice rarely comes alone. Behind it there is often an extradition request, sometimes a sanctions listing, and a prosecution in a court the requesting state controls. Each feeds the others, so we take the whole case. Rhys Davies and I explain. youtube.com/watch?v=IBW6_QvX…
Oman held Mariam Abdelbasette in her hospital bed after she gave birth, on a claim that a Red Notice existed. No domestic process could help her. With an NGO and journalists we took the case public. Oman demanded the coverage stop, then backed off. She has left with her children.
The Security Council will not hold Taliban leaders to account for gender persecution. The alternative is coordinated Magnitsky sanctions from the EU, the UK, Canada and the US, tied to the ICC's arrest warrants. I said so at the IBA, and I did not pretend it would be easy.
Human rights arguments rarely win a Red Notice challenge alone. INTERPOL reads Article 2 narrowly. A bundle of country reports on a flawed justice system seldom moves the CCF. What lands is concrete violations against the applicant: fabricated evidence, confessions under duress.
Two Uyghur refugees held in Thailand since 2014 were pardoned and moved to Bangkok IDC on Oct 21.
Since then no lawyers, rights groups or NHRCT allowed in. Requests unanswered.
Today China met Thailand's NSC.
In 2025, an NSC decision sent 40 Uyghur men back to China.
Dismantling the rules that made Britain attractive to international wealth is the most significant strategic miscalculation in UK economic policy since Brexit. I made the case in Family Office Magazine. The families who would have chosen London are choosing elsewhere.

The IBA's Human Rights Institute launches a Lawyers at Risk Monitor in early 2027: verified attacks on lawyers worldwide where there is prima facie evidence of a link to their work. Cases stay confidential, the totals are published. Exiled lawyers targeted from home belong in it.

Dubai Islamic Bank @DIBtoday assured its regulator it could sell Ryan Cornelius’s land and clear his alleged debt anytime. Instead, it kept the land, still claimed the debt was unpaid and, after Ryan served 10 years in prison, applied to extend his sentence by another 20 years.

Please watch this short film. It’s about the shocking UAE raider attack on two UK citizens (Ryan Cornelius and Charles Ridley) who have now been held in Dubai jail unjustly for 18 years so their captors can keep their property which is now worth $3 billion.

I file four or five UN applications a year and usually get a decision within a year. Most do not. Special Rapporteurs told me that with one junior staffer between them, a case must be exceptional before they act. Whether the UN hears you in time is a lottery.
The World Bank and the regional development banks run their own sanctions system. A debarment is decided on the balance of probabilities, no court tests it before it takes effect, and the other banks honour it. It carries criminal-scale consequences without criminal safeguards.

For years, Lana Nusseibeh has used her position to vehemently deny and divert attention from the UAE’s war crimes in Yemen and support for the abusive Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, says @hrw's @BrunoStagno

Her disinformation about the UAE’s rights record, particularly her dismissal of the UN’s own reports documenting the UAE’s links to the RSF, has seriously undermined justice and accountability for the victims, @hrw's @BrunoStagno

🚩Lana Nusseibeh has a long record of whitewashing UAE rights abuses in Sudan & Yemen:
She repeatedly denies the UAE provides military support to the RSF & defended UAE as complying w/ IHL during its intervention in Yemen, dismissing evidence of abuses 👇

Spin dictators rarely need hit squads. A Red Notice request labelled fraud freezes accounts, blocks borders and silences a critic at arm's length. When policing turns political, the machinery of cooperation is the weapon. Rhys Davies and I examined it at Leiden in July.
Aysoltan Niyazova of Pussy Riot was detained at the Polish-Lithuanian border in 2025 on a Turkmen Red Notice she had already defeated in Croatia in 2022. INTERPOL invalidated it in February 2026, 24 years after it was first issued. A deletion is only as good as its enforcement.
