Drake Maye was under pressure on 42.9% of his dropbacks against Chicago and still played some of his best football when the pocket collapsed. Under pressure: • 11/12 passing (91.7%) • 151 yards • 1 TD That 91.7% completion rate ties the highest single-game mark under pressure in the NFL this season. 321 yards, 2 TDs, and a loss. Maye deserved better.

Post-Game Thoughts - I thought Drake played very well. Outside of the INT, he was exceptional. Truthfully, I'd rather my QB (the 2nd youngest starting QB in the NFL right now) keep pushing the ball and learn from his mistakes than be a dink-and-dunk QB who limits himself because he's afraid to throw picks. That said, let's keep improving. This was Drake's first mental mistake in about 4 weeks. Mistakes also show up in different ways; I'd argue Caleb's sack (in a vacuum) was just as costly. Outside the INT, Drake faced 15 pressures and still put up 347 total yards and 3 total TDs on 77.4% completion. The advanced metrics were great too. Like Mike Vrabel said, he gave us a chance last night, and I'm happy he's ours. - I thought Caleb Williams was awesome. His sack avoidance was on full display. Even when Zak Kuhr dialled up the perfect blitz, it wasn't enough because Caleb found a way out of it. He was accurate, decisive, and clutch on 3rd down. He was a big reason for their success last night. - I said it before the game, and I'll say it again: Drake and Caleb are the future of this league. It's good for the sport to have two guys this young who can go toe to toe and deliver top-tier QB play. Players like this don't come around often, so appreciate them while they're here. - I thought Vrabel managed the game really well. I haven't read up on it yet, but my guess is he'd have gone for it on that 4th down too. After the first couple of drives, McDaniels got comfortable and called a much better game than the pundits will give him credit for. - As much as I hate any loss, I'm not that mad about this one. On the road, banged up, and the team still played well. Chicago is a great opponent, and we gave them a good run despite the circumstances. - I really hope we make a move at the deadline. Quenton Nelson is worth it. I don't think you can trust AVT to be healthy this season. - AJ has been extremely frustrating. I can't imagine he's playing at 100% right now, so I'll stay patient, but he's due for a big game. The two deep balls he dropped were beautiful throws by Drake. We need more out of a player we traded this much to go get. Simple as that. - The Patriots 2026 Draft class is incredible. Lomu, Jacas, and Raridon will all be long-time contributors for this team.

Got so caught up with Roman Anthony being projected for 40 homers j didn’t even see Arias having the first 70/70 season
am i crazy or could the '27 red sox be a serious contender simply by getting rid of the bad players and not even having to add any new ones

Oh that's incredible - I can't imagine if John Henry straight up said "yeah the roster just put up an awful performance in the playoffs" Granted, they did just that. But it's really funny for an owner to put a inefficiently built roster at complete fault
Hal Steinbrenner: "The bottom line is the players didn't live up to their end of the bargain in the playoffs." #Yankees

Who needs a farm system anyway? Just give what we've got to the Orioles again
People around the MLB are wondering if the Orioles are going to trade Gunnar Henderson, per @afkostka “When you trade Adley Rutschman you open the door and say everyone is movable for a price… if they think Gunnar isn’t going to stick around or you’re not willing to pay what it will cost for him to stick around maybe they do look to move him.” (Via @AllBannerSports)

The youngest starting quarterback in the NFL is down 5 starters on offense and just casually put up 250 and 3 TDs on .39 EPA 10 is as generational of a franchise carrier as you’ll find
The Patriots offense is just out of players. RT, RG, LG, WR2, WR3 all out with injury. This team’s Super Bowl hopes just rely on Drake Maye and AJ Brown going 07 Brady & Moss rest of season.

Both sides offer up absurd arguments. Of course every team can't spend like the Dodgers, but it's equally ridiculous to imply that a lot of small market teams are committed to winning in the first place. There's a difference between a rebuild and whatever the Rockies/Angels do
Ah yes.... commitment to winning... yes, every city with MLB team has the same metro population and wealth to fund the same payroll figures because it is that simple. My gawd...

In 2026, the Red Sox had the 17th ranked offense by wRC+ with players like Narvaez, Story, Duran, and Wong getting considerable runtime. Adding a bat like Suzuki, Jeffers, or Bauers on top of full seasons from Anthony, Mead, and Rutschman and it's not a gap year
Replying to @redsoxstats
Feels like a gap year

It's wildly insulting for the owners to suggest that they won't pivot because of some semblance of care for the fans. There has been consistent failure to listen to real fan concerns for several generations, and to use that to get what they want is absurd
“Owners do not intend to pivot from their contentions. Their insistence on a cap and floor -- backed, the league says, by surveys that show fans want one”, per @JeffPassan

None of the fanbases that would supposedly benefit from a salary cap being implemented have teams that are managed well in the first place. I get the idea of bridging the money spent, but what makes you think that Bob Nutting or owners like him would actually spend well?
People don’t understand that this is legitimately the argument for a salary cap. I want teams to be successful because they are managed well, not because they can spend more money.

Well now that’s a dramatic exaggeration and a bit of a hyperbole
No exaggeration. Zero hyperbole. I would rather the MLB crumble & cease to exist than have a salary cap.

It’s a single game. It’s not like the entire ALCS is going to be at 1 PM on a weekday. Ignoring the financial aspect of installing a roof everywhere, it’s also just not feasible for every park
Replying to @fullerjoh
How does having an ALCS game played at 1pm on Thursday help grow the game?

Quite possibly one of the worst ideas I've seen. Not only would the players not go for it, neither would the potential financial backers (who is watching a Jake and Logan Paul sponsored baseball game??) Plus we'll be getting some form of baseball in 2027
Dear @MLBPA The MLB players could… And should…. Do their own thing For 2027… One new league One year contracts Some rich baseball-connected people who could help players launch a new short-term lockout length league 1. Mark Cuban — longtime MLB pursuit + minority A’s stake 2. Warren Buffett — lifelong fan + massive capital 3. MrBeast — baseball background + unmatched young-audience reach 4. Elon Musk — unlimited resources for disruption 5. Donald Trump — visibility & influence, says he may step in if needed 6. Gail Miller / Miller family — multi-gen baseball love + Utah expansion push 7. Ryan Smith — aggressive MLB interest + sports ops experience 8. Todd Boehly — lifelong fan + Dodgers minority stake & media expertise 9. Jake & Logan Paul-Not sure if Trump being involved or these guys being involved would piss people off more This is just a quick small list. Include weekly tournaments like extended player double elimination HR Derby contests, made for TV players only poker tournaments, vlog style shows, charity content based around players charities and so so much more A player-led league would still face huge hurdles (stadiums, rights, talent rules), but it seems to me that the players are the content Would a streaming service want this? Yes, yes they would! Would it work as a straight to YouTube product? Yes, yes it would What do you think?

Won 100 games and are the front runners to sign Tarik Skubal but sure the Dodgers need a retool
We NEED a retool this offseason, unfortunately we are stuck with a lot of long term contracts to fully embrace a youth reset but Friedman’s gotta get creative

IF this was a realistic price and could be done, you'd absolutely have do it Put Roman Anthony in RF with potentially Kristian Campbell or a FA addition in LF and Yordan at DH
Replying to @RafaelaEnjoyer
So to get Yordan (2yrs & ~$53M remaining; $26.83M AAV) WITHOUT Arias, it'd cost something like: Duran + Wilyer or Rafaela + Gonzalez + two more prospects in our top 20 for Yordan and one of Walker or Javier
