In the light of #Easter, let us allow ourselves to be amazed by Christ! Let us allow our hearts to be transformed by his immense love for us! Let those who have weapons lay them down! Let those who have the power to unleash wars choose peace! Not a peace imposed by force, but through dialogue! Not with the desire to dominate others, but to encounter them!

You can pretty clearly see how dumb piracy advocates are when it comes to a game that they like and developers they can put a face to.
Silksong is so popular, even people in the Piracy subreddit are encouraging others to just buy it: 'If we can afford to support them, we should' pcgamer.com/games/action/sil…
Cracker Barrel did not disdain their customers. They were literally dying off. Like 20% would be gone in 15 years. The new logo tested fine in research. It just got caught up in culture war race to the bottom.
Right move.
Cracker Barrel had made the same mistake as Jaguar. They targeted a nonexistent customer.
They disdained their loyalists (too old, too white, too uncool, and in Jaguar’s case, clearly too male). And they tried to upgrade to a new customer who’s cool and trendy but doesn’t actually exist.
Jaguar targeted what I’ve described as the “vegan barista who wants to roll up to the drum circle in a luxury sports car” demographic (which I thought was 0 people, but to be fair is at least 49 based on sales figures).
Cracker Barrel targeted the kind of person who wants a more sleek, modern dining experience, and for some reason will still go to Cracker Barrel.
The execs at these companies are not unintelligent or inexperienced. They seem to be boomers catching up to the zeitgeist of 2022 and using it as the basis of a “bold campaign” that can land them a panel slot at Cannes Lions.
But the best brands are those that embrace their core audience and foster diehards (Costco, Chick-fil-A, Harley Davidson, etc.).
You don’t get to pick a fantasy customer you’d rather serve. If you don’t respect the customers, just change jobs. Brands are built on loyalty, and if you turn your back on loyal customers, they’ll turn their backs on you.
Good for Cracker Barrel!

A reason businesses update their logos to be more modern looking, despite the protestations of people who claim to really like the old logos, is so the businesses stay relevant to new generations. That may sound like a vapid thing a marketing executive would say but it's correct!
As someone who ran the guest survey program at Cracker Barrel, I think people are underestimating how much that brand needed a refresh.
