Juan Soto accepting fate and becoming a 1B/DH in 2027 would open up one of the easier ways to improve the Mets as an overall team. That’s not happening though.

Absolutely agree. Howie Rose’s farewell really showed me that we need to enjoy it while it lasts because it won’t last forever.

My takeaway is Ron Darling can work on SNY as long as he likely wants to. He evaluates every year if he is up for doing it another year. GKR are getting older. We need to treasure them while we have them. At some point, they won't keep calling baseball games and will retire

Ron Darling was non-committal yesterday when I asked him about returning to the SNY booth for next season. He has a contract for next year. nypost.com/2026/10/23/sports…

Where the Mets went wrong with Freddy Peralta and the SNY question Ron Darling ‘can’t answer’

The SNY broadcaster isn't sure what lessons the Mets may take from Freddy Peralta's rebirth.

Scott Boras: “In the MLB pool, I’ve got a bunch of swimmers and I’ve got a bunch of owners in their floaties,” Boras said. “And a lot of them won’t get rid of their floaties. So what do we do? Do we support that? Or do we say, ‘No, we’re going to continue to reward the swimmers.”
