prior to getting on the boats, Hagel told us he thought Sabourin, Carlson, or Hedman would catch the biggest fish because "they do a little on the side fishing so they talk a pretty big game"
Hagel actually took home a trophy for catching the second largest snook while the other three were winless

Today's set to be a busy day for the @TBLightning despite no practice.
After supporting the 2026 Coop's Catch for Kids fundraiser this morning, the #GoBolts players are also heading to Game 3 of the World Series tonight to support the Tampa Bay Rays.
Some early picks for the #GoBolts fishing champion today:
Jon Cooper said today’s his day, it’s his turn for a win. He joked he doesn’t know if he’s caught nine fish over the nine years they’ve held the tourney.
Hagel’s going with one of Sabourin, Carlson or Hedman: “I think they do a little on the side fishing, so they talk a pretty big game. One of those three is my guess.”
#GoBolts Brandon Hagel this morning on being part of Coop’s Catch for Kids: “It means everything. I think these are the things we look forward to. I think just seeing and putting a smile on these kids' faces, I can't put myself in their shoes, but I try to as much as I can. I just want to come out here, put a smile on kids' faces. That's the most important part. That's the best part of this day. Hopefully they have some fun, and we always have fun as well.”
#GoBolts Jon Cooper on Coop’s Catch: “The great part about this is you're with the kids and you get to go fishing with them. The super difficult part is the kids that we've lost in the last few years, and the reason we have this tournament is so that we don't ever lose kids. When we stop losing the kids, then we can stop having the tournament.”
Today is Coop’s Catch for Kids, the annual fishing tournament fundraiser run by #GoBolts Coach Jon Cooper that benefits pediatric cancer research and patient services.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think it would become as big as it is now…This is two of my favorite days of the year, and it’s super cool because of how much the kids benefit and how much the players care. It’s just a great match, and it’s so much fun—other than the fact that I never catch fish (laughs). That’s a tough one.”
