"The next generation will not allow us to skip the reckoning...
Blessed are the disrupters.
Blessed are the whistleblowers.
Blessed are the survivors.
Blessed are those who refuse to stand on the sidelines...
I can see it!"

The guy in the cowboy hat next to LeBron spends about $500,000 a year on courtside seats, and he pays for it with rent from retirees who can't take their homes and leave.
His name is James Goldstein. He's been to more than 5,000 NBA games, and he owns trailer parks in Southern California.
Here's the thing about trailer parks most people never think about. You own your home, but you rent the little patch of dirt it sits on. And "mobile" homes almost never move. The Supreme Court looked at this back in 1992 and noted that only about 1 in 100 ever gets moved once it's set down. Moving one can eat a huge chunk of what the house is even worth, and a lot of parks won't accept older homes anyway.
So if the landlord raises your lot rent, you can pay it, or you can walk away from a house you own outright.
That's basically the whole business model. It's why more than 100 cities and counties in California put rent control on mobile home parks, and it's why Goldstein has spent decades fighting them in court.
In 2006 he bought Colony Cove, a park for seniors in Carson, for about $23 million, most of it borrowed. The next year he asked the city to let him raise rent $618 a month per lot. The city said no. He's sued Carson at least eight times since, including a $78 million claim a state judge threw out. A federal jury gave him $3.3 million in 2016, and an appeals court took it back two years later.
In Palm Springs he tried something smarter. He moved to break his El Dorado park into individually owned lots, which can knock out local rent control and leave residents choosing between buying the ground under their own house or paying market rent. The city paid him $937,500 to settle, and the appeals ruling from that fight gave park owners all over California a legal path to do the same thing. It took a new state law in 2013 to let cities block those conversions when residents don't want them.
To give him his due, Goldstein argues rent control is unfair to owners, and when it comes to apartments a lot of economists would back him up. Trailer parks are where that argument gets a lot harder to make, because leaving means hauling your house down the freeway.
Now do the math on that 2007 raise. $618 a month comes out to about $7,400 a year per lot. The raise on roughly 67 lots would pay for an entire season of his courtside seats.

The "downed pilot" was a fake cover story for a failed US military operation to capture Iran’s primary stockpile of highly enriched 60% uranium, roughly 440–970 pounds.
The primary stockpile is located at Isfahan, exactly where the pilot was "lost."
This explains why the US heavily bombed the area while "searching" and why the C-130s were destroyed without loss of life.
The C-130s were hit on the ground while the special forces attempted to secure the material. The entire operation became a massive rescue operation to extract the soldiers.

He took the greatest military force in world history, lost a war to a middle power in a week, begged the world to save him, and demanded that the media lie about this and everything else. I try, but at a simple human level I do not see how anyone can mistake this man’s almost supernatural weakness for strength. His weakness is something negative, gravitational, so deep that it can draw in a whole country. But only if we fail to see it. Only if we let it.

Every time I see data like this, I get angrier and angrier. Educators were hoodwinked by the ed-tech industry, and the casualty of that experiment has been a generation of children who are cognitively impaired because we brought screens into schools.

On #IndigenousPeoplesDay the world celebrates our culture but what’s often unseen is the daily work to protect, revitalize, and honor in today’s busy society.
Each day, Indigenous Peoples around the world step into a role as caretakers of the land, defenders of the waters, air, and territories while carrying forward the knowledge of balance and responsibility.
We continue to dismantle the systems that threaten our sovereignty and restore that sacred relationship.

Religion note: Worth noting that, given Hegseth's emphasis on Christianity, an entire wing of Christianity — one that has been very visible throughout U.S. history — disagrees with him here.

It's ghoulish to mock or justify the shooting of Charlie Kirk. Rising political violence is a horror of our time. Unchecked it will lead to catastrophes none of us want to imagine.
Deeply hoping he pulls through. We are all people, whatever we believe. That has to come first.

If Trump and Musk have suffered an unprecedented number of judicial injunctions, it is because they have committed an unprecedented number of illegal actions. We don’t have rogue district judges, we have a rogue president violating the Constitution & breaking the law every day. Watch my full statement:

Paris proves bold leadership transforms cities. 🌍
From suffocating smog (2007) to clean, green & livable streets (2023):
🚴♀️ 100s of km of bike lanes
🌳 Tens of thousands of trees
🚗 Car-free zones & 30 km/h limits
Millions now breathe clean air.
When will we dare to follow? 💪

A lot of people have no idea that Mr. Rogers went before congress to keep them from cutting the funding for the entire PBS network. We almost lost it when we were kids and it ain’t lost on me that no child left behind became a thing when he got sick and had to leave in 2001
