Some of the jury winners I might think were *better* than the public vote winner, but this timeline would have been healthy for the Contest
The winners of the last decade of Junior Eurovision if it was televote only:

I believe it was @vDanDesign who asked in the press conference of #JESC 2023 (!) about why these languages were the ones used for the Junior Eurovision voting interface. Was told it would be looked into afterwards. BUT IT HASN’T CHANGED! Indefensible laziness from organisers.

Tonight is #jesc2026 in Malta. I have written just a handful of articles about this contest in the build up that hopefully gives you something extra to think about through the 150 minute broadcast

3 - An investigation into the time change for Junior Eurovision making this the latest ever start for the show. What can JESC benefit from this, and what are the downsides? Who does this benefit in terms of viewing opportunity, and on the scoreboard? escinsight.com/2026/10/24/pr…

Junior Eurovision may not interest some of you in terms of artistry, song styles and how the EBU use the young artists to promote their merch drop. While last year was a landslide, JESC is often a close run thing on the scoreboard, so it could be exciting tonight. Enjoy!

Spain is the only competitor that benefits from the 21:00 CEST start time in terms of getting kids to watch Junior Eurovision Expect Spain to win the public vote. The repercussions for a good result will be igniting conversations about participating in May
No solo a las 23.59h ha salido un pop-up que indicaba que se abrían votaciones, es que TODO el bloque de anuncios lleva la promo para votar a Lucas. ¡Maravilla! #JESC2026

This looks really amazing, a really sensible agenda adn focus points, and I would love to be there and tell those stories. There's much to critique about #Eurovision at the moment, but that is exactly how such a day should look.

The ad value of #eurovision as highlighted by its own Brand Impact Report has dropped to 73% of its 2024 level in the past two years.

This from the #eurovision Brand Impact Report is ridiculous. Shows countries with more viewers in 2023 have higher interpersonal trust. Social trust stats favour Nordics, which dominate viewing % anyway (especially so in 2023) Embarrassing of EBU report to suggest correlation

- free shuttle buses will run between hotels and the city (frequency/hours of operation unclear) - Eurovillage will be walking distance from the arena - hotel rooms are being held by the municipality and are yet to be released, so more accommodation options are coming

I need to write a top 10 article of feel good stories from #eurovision history. The benefit of KAJ winning #melfest and what that did for local pride in #Vörå has to be one of them

Considering we lost broadcasters, more watched online, the songs weren’t stellar (especially from the bigger population nations), this isn’t so crazy. We knew it would be a rough year. Viewing share drop of 5% the most key stat. Of that 5% only a part will be boycott based.
Viewing figures for Eurovision 2026 were 131 million, down from 166 million in 2025 📉⬇️ Source: EBU
