Thanks to the hard work of my staff and the support of advocates and community members, five of my bills moved off Senate Suspense and to the Senate Floor. So proud of the work we are doing this year...two more weeks Team Bonta!

In LA County, officials are spending more than they are collecting in youth restitution and youth restitution fines. This is bad policy, but The Repair Act provides a solution. Call your Senator today to tell them you support #AB1186.
Counties sometimes spend more on collections than they actually receive in youth restitution. #AB1186 offers a better system for youth, families, and crime survivors. @Portantino
Congrats to our Arizona partners! #debtfreejustice
We attended the Bill Signing Ceremony for SB 1197 today!
After years of championing this issue, we are excited to see an end to administrative juvenile court fees. THANK YOU @almaforarizona and Sen. Gowan for sponsoring this bill and @GovernorHobbs for supporting AZ kids!

California’s current restitution system is broken and fails survivors, youth, and their families. #AB1186 is a win-win for crime survivors and youth!
AB 1186 offers an alternative to our broken restitution system. Healing and restoration is possible without bankrupting youth and their families.
Nick was ordered to pay restitution at just 13 years old. Kids shouldn’t have to pay for their freedom. #AB1186 provides accountability without financial burden.
