We are delighted to hear that all LAs in England will soon have Best Start Family Hubs offering breastfeeding support with additional funding to roll these out. We look forward to hearing more detail in the government's Best Start in Life Strategy tomorrow #breastfeeding
The announcement says "Postcodes shouldn’t dictate the support available". This is something Better Breastfeeding has been campaigning on since 2017 and we will be following closely to ensure that the postcode lottery of breastfeeding support is brought to an end. @katequilton

The Spending Review brought good news on schools & early intervention, but we urge the government to hold true to promises to raise the healthiest generation of children, tackle child poverty & give children the best start in life. Our reaction in full: buff.ly/sNPpsja
Please email your MP to ask them to attend - and make sure to include your full name and address with postcode so they can confirm that you are a consituent.

Children in the UK experience some of the worst health outcomes in Europe.
The government has committed to raising ‘the healthiest generation of children in our history’. What actions should it prioritise to help achieve this?
New briefing out now: kingsfund.org.uk/insight-and…
The Breastfeeding Alliance, @first1001days @ncbtweets and others in the sector had called Start for Life funding to be extended in 2025-26. The government listened and has confirmed that £18.5 million will be allocated to breastfeeding support this year.
We welcome today's announcement that funding for Start for Life will be extended by another year. This is a much needed down-payment that must pave the way for greater investment in the multi-year Spending Review.

As members of the HPIG, we welcome the launch of the new #Roadmap. In particular we support the call to put prevention at the heart of health policy, starting with babies & children. As @CampaignsKeith explains, #StartforLife funding plays a crucial role in doing this👇

This roadmap from the Children & Young People's Health Policy Influencing Group provides clear direction for how we can address the challenges in the health system, by centring the needs - and voices - of children and families.
