Excited to announce that Planet AI is generally available! You can 'ask the Earth' 💬🌎 Today's AI models have read the internet, but they haven't seen the world. The @planet AI app changes that. You can now ask questions directly to a 10+ year, 3,000+ layer archive of daily satellite imagery. During beta, we've seen: 🌾 Farmers boosting crop yields 🚒 First responders tracking disaster paths 🛡️ Security teams uncovering emerging risks 🌲 Park rangers halting illegal deforestation in real time We're putting satellite intelligence into more hands, helping more people see what's happening on Earth and make better decisions. Search. Analyse. Act. What questions do you have? Try it now: ai.planet.com/?utm_campaign=…

This meme is interesting to follow. Fuel tax in the UK is 43%... Pump price: £1.97 Fuel tax: £0.53 Tax on fuel: £0.22 Tax on tax: £0.11 Pre-tax diesel price: £1.11 The UK government could cut the price of diesel by over 40%, if it were so inclined...

This is INSANE. Cisco’s president Jeetu Patel has given a 27-year-old engineer unlimited AI tokens to try to rewrite 98% of the company’s legacy code within 24 months, Fortune reports. Padmanabhan Krishnamurthy thinks he can do it with a two-person team. He has just four weeks to prove the approach.

Incumbent backlash is often a sign of disruptive innovation for consumers. Is the complaint really about the cost of compliance, or the end of a highly profitable information asymmetry?
Dystopian Britain latest. A £65 rent tax and one of the most intrusive data leaks waiting to happen. The thievery is done in the open now.

Curious, I went through Nous onboarding this morning. Very smooth. Easy. Big savings numbers. An early reward to drive connecting a bank account via Open Banking. I stopped there. Probably staggering how much household data they're collecting and consolidating.
BREAKING: 🇬🇧 Nous, the household AI agent, has just raised a HUGE $17m to run bills and admin for UK families! @get_nous was founded in 2021 by @gregmarsh, the founder of onefinestay, and it has TAKEN OFF: >> Just under 250,000 UK households signed up >> Over £685 million in spending managed per year >> A new household added every minute >> The average household saves £734 The agent switches your providers and cancels the subscriptions you forgot about. The round is led by Heartcore with existing seed investor @Mosaic_VC. This is VERY COOL. Huge congrats to Greg Marsh and the whole Nous team 👏 Would you let an AI agent switch your bills on autopilot, or keep the final click yourself?

Brave new world for online retail. I wanted something specific. ChatGPT found a local vendor whose site didn't have an English translation. No problem. ChatG brokered the entire transaction.

"European companies pay more than €260 billion every year to American cloud and software providers. Europe has become the continent that consumes what others build..." @latticecut
Should Europe leave frontier AI to the Americans and the Chinese? The idea has gained ground in Europe. It is a fundamental mistake. Build or surrender: for now, the choice is still ours. Full article below.

This is a good proposal, and needs careful consideration as it's inherently destabilising to the labour market. Not sure the AI industry, which already scares people re: employment, calling for removing labor protections is doing itself many favours here.
1/ Today we’re launching an open letter calling on the government to end unfair restrictions that stop Britain’s best switching jobs or starting companies. UK AI companies that have raised $5bn agree: our best should be free to start and scale. 🧵 @downingstreet @biztradegovuk

It's four pieces of engineering. The protein is ultrafiltered skim milk, which is milk pushed through a membrane that holds back the protein and strains out water and lactose. That's where 30g comes from and why the sugar is under a gram. Then lactase enzyme breaks down whatever lactose is left, which is why it's lactose free. The part you're actually tasting is the second line, modified plant fat, EPG. EPG is newer on the market and not widely utilized. It's a fat molecule built so your body mostly doesn't absorb it. It coats your mouth like fat and carries flavor like fat and then leaves without the calories. That's the answer to how it's rich at 150 calories. Sucralose and acesulfame potassium do the sweet, Dutch cocoa does the chocolate, and four different gums do the thickness.

Many of us live in hybrid reality already, with the battery-powered 5G brain-network interface having already fundamentally shaped not only perception but also physiology. We ourselves are wetware nodes and edge compute on the network.
the thing you have to realize about the twenties is that internet is real life now. it didnt use to be. it is now.

Y Combinator's 20th birthday is tomorrow. Here's what was happening on March 11, 2005: paulgraham.com/ycstart.html (Yeah, I know this tweet will get hidden because it has a link in it, and that I'm supposed to put the link in a reply. But that's so stupid that I refuse to do it.)

Seems like it's being discussed @latticecut... "The Government Knows A.G.I. Is Coming" nytimes.com/2025/03/04/opini…
Think it’s worth reiterating. We’re not guaranteed superhuman levels of utility in 2026-27. But it’s not impossible either. And not very many people are talking about it - at least not publicly.

Painting over vibrancy and values with grey. The metaphor writes itself. It is an incredible photo and change is certainly here.
