Join the call for Australia’s media companies to stand together by refusing to cover One Nation events until the access issue is resolved. Media companies should be insisting that One Nation accepts the attendance of ALL accredited journalists, not just the ones it perceives as unquestioning or supportive. We need a robust liberal democracy ... not a Trumpian perversion.

אני איש ימין, כיהנתי כראש מועצה ביו"ש שנים רבות, כמנכ"ל משרד ההתיישבות, כחבר במועצת יש"ע, לקחתי חלק במאבקים אידיאולוגים, בעמונה הייתי במטה המאבק, נעצרתי בעקבות מחאה נגד הקפאת הבניה ביו"ש ושבתי רעב מול בית רוה"מ למען כבישים ראויים.
גיניתי ואני מגנה בחריפות חלק מההתבטאויות של יאיר גולן , סבור שאינן נכונות ואף מזיקות למדינת ישראל.
אבל אני לא יכול לעמוד מנגד כשלחלל האוויר מופצות תיאוריות קונספירציה הזויות שגם אם נאמרות כטקטיקת בחירות, יוצרות קיטוב, אלימות ושנאה בעם, הגם שמדובר בשקרים שנאמרים ממי שאמור לאחד את העם.
השאלה אינה למה המדים של האלוף יאיר גולן היו נקיים בשבעה באוקטובר ואם הוא באמת חילץ אנשים.
הוא חילץ ואני מכיר חלק מהמשפחות באופן אישי והייתי עד לכך בזמן אמת, השאלה למה כשלנו ולמה הצבא כולו לא היה על המדים מוכן לקטסטרופה הגדולה בתולדות המדינה, היכן היו המנהיגים, הצבא והשב"כ ?
יאיר גולן, פנסיונר שעבר את גיל 60, לבש מדים ועשה את המיטב ככל יכולתו ועל זה צריך לומר לו תודה ולהצדיע לו.
כשיאיר גולן היה מפקד אוגדת איו"ש היה לי אירוע בטחוני בגזרה וכעסתי, מצאתי אותו בשש בבוקר ישן בחניה ומחכה לי על מנת לתת מענה בטחוני ראוי לתושבים, חמשת ילדיו שרתו כלוחמים בצה"ל, חלקם למדו עם בתי בבית הספר לחינוך סביבתי בשדה בוקר שם הייתי פוגש את יאיר בעדלידא המפורסמת כשהוא חובש כובע ליצן כאחד האדם, יחד עשינו, בג'ינס וכפכפים, חוגי בית לגייס תלמידים לפנימיה בשדה בוקר, כשהיה אלוף פקע"ר ואני כיהנתי כיו"ר ועדת הביטחון של השלטון המקומי , הוא היה אלוף קשוב, קואפרטיבי שלא התבייש לשנות את דעתו כשטעה.
רצח האופי שאנו כחברה עושים למי שחושב אחרת מאיתנו, האלימות שפושה בחברה וילדינו עדים לה, הפילוג שחלק מהמנהיגים יוצרים, הראיה של החיים בשחור ולבן, המחשבה שמי שחושב אחרת מאיתנו הוא האוייב שלנו - זאת הבעיה המרכזית בחברה הישראלית.
יאיר גולן הוא איש ראוי שהקריב ומקריב את מרבית שנותיו למען מדינת ישראל אותה הוא אוהב, הדברים בוערים בו וזאת דרכו.
הוא איש ישר, חכם וצנוע שבחר לעשות מעשה ולא לשבת מנגד.
רעייתו וילדיו שחונכו לציונות, אהבת האדם, האדמה והמדינה - אינם מתראיינים, אינם מפיצים שנאה ותיאוריות קונספירציה הזויות ושומרים על חיים אנונימיים וצנועים.
איני בוחר בדמוקרטים, אבל לחברה הישראלית חשוב שיהיו מגוון דעות וביקורת שתאזן את אלה שחושבים שהצדק תמיד איתם.

בחמישי בערב, שלושה צעירים דרוזים, ששניים מהם חיילים ואחד מלש״ב הותקפו באלימות קשה רק בגלל שדיברו ערבית.
ביקרתי הבוקר באיכילוב את א׳, אחד הצעירים שהותקפו. קשה לעמוד מול אדם שנפגע רק בגלל השפה שבה דיבר.
הדרוזים והערבים הם חלק בלתי נפרד מהחברה הישראלית, ומי שתוקף אותם תוקף את הערכים שעליהם המדינה שלנו צריכה לעמוד.
האלימות הזאת ניזונה מהסתה, מגזענות ומממשלה שמכשירה אותן. וכשהשנאה יוצאת מהממשלה, מבן גביר וסמוטריץ׳, שרים גזענים, היא מחלחלת ישר לרחובות.
הבטחתי לא׳ שהביטחון שלו יהיה אחת המשימות הראשונות והחשובות ביותר שלנו, הדמוקרטים, בממשלה. נחזיר את הביטחון לרחובות, ניאבק בגזענות בלי למצמץ, ונבנה כאן חברה שמבטיחה שוויון אמיתי.

אני מגבה באופן מוחלט את הרמטכ״ל על עמידתו על חובתו המקצועית. אסור לאפשר שום מהלך צבאי שאין מאחוריו צורך ביטחוני ברור, תכלית אסטרטגית ותוכנית פעולה אחראית.
כשאזרחי ישראל ילכו אל הקלפי ביום שלישי הקרוב עליהם לזכור זאת: נתניהו מהווה איום ביטחוני על ישראל. הוא אינו מהסס להקריב את חיי ילדינו לשם הישרדותו ערב בחירות - את זה צה״ל מנסה לבלום.

*The Great Election Odyssey*
Israelis are not permitted to vote from other countries, except diplomats and ship crews.
But myriads of citizens working or studying abroad are currently flocking to Israel for the 27 October election. To the tune of 70K incomers, and counting. This is worth at least 1 Knesset seat.
Most of them are here to oust the Netanyahu regime. For some, this election will decide whether they can return to live in the country they still call home.

A war is coming to the West Bank
Yesterday Palestinian resistance fighters conducted a surgical strike against Israeli occupation soldiers, fully in accordance with international law.
In response, Israeli government immediately announced that they will do war crimes and started doing war crimes.
All the Palestinian villages in the West Bank are under siege, the city of Hebron is under siege. IDF is demolishing house after house, raiding family after family. They said they want to turn Hebron into Rafah.
More than 250 families were kicked out into the streets with nothing. People slept on the street last night.
The Israeli election is in 3 days, and the Netanyahu-Smotrich government is going to use this to start a war in the West Bank.
The only way to stop this is pressure from all directions. We know it works. International pressure worked for the besieged house in Qusra, which still belongs to the Palestinians because of the all-around attention. It can work for Hebron too.
But it will require EVERYONE reading this doing everything they can to stop this. Call your representative, hold a demonstration, organise direct action against the occupation’s assets abroad. Keep attention on the West Bank.
