Many sitters in the 18th century faced this very dilemma. Read more on the popularity of 'Vandyke' clothing by @BexUnsworth 👉 artuk.org/discover/stories/d…

Do you have a favourite spring flower?
🌼 The daffodil, or narcissus, was one of Philipp Otto Runge's favourite motifs. This découpage was made with white laid paper on blue paper by Runge around 1795–1810.
Runge (1777–1810) was a German artist who, despite his short life and career, was considered one of the best of his time and one of the leading painters of the Romantic movement.

You'll find a rainbow at each corner of Mary Newill's embroidered bed cover, 1902. I've enjoyed seeing this in real life for the first time on display in the #VictorianRadicals exhibition @BM_AG. A digital copy is nice but nothing beats the real thing! #FindARainbowDay
