Michigan State journalism student Elliott Hammon still has the video Tom Izzo sent him before his brain tumor surgery four and a half years ago. Hammon brought it up during Izzo’s press conference and asked how it impacts him knowing he means so much to people. Izzo’s full response: “It’s better than winning.” “What people think of you, how you can inspire people. I mean, that’s why I’m here. Some people jump around and go to different jobs.
