You know what has been the most interesting to witness. Last year, when care workers were rattled, everyone told them to upskill plus all sorts of insults.
No wam, we rallied, wrote to mps, protested, pushed our directors to comment.
I suggest you guys take past questions from care workers oh so you can fight this absolute cinema too. Instead of this condescension 😆
Care workers have been fighting for their rights, protesting, emailing their local councils, attending meetings that affect their status. A few weeks ago people were making fun of their protest and questioning why they’d be protesting in “another man’s country”. Now that they’re reaping the rewards of their fight, it’s “why should they be exempt?”. So unserious.
Done with advent calendars until next year. Skincare and fragrance calendars were a hit, I’m set for a year

I think we’re so starved for representation and recognition on foreign platforms/stages that we rush to celebrate everything even when we’re the joke. I might be hyper sensitive but I personally I’m never thrilled at caricature portrayals of Nigerian culture or Nollywood. I get why people find it funny and if we were in a global media landscape that was flush with portrayals of Nigerians or our culture with excellence, I might find it enjoyable.

I keep saying that you people have become way too comfortable being cruel to women.
Doesn’t matter how you dress it up, you’re simply cruel and that it’s ALWAYS directed at women is a real problem.
You should unpack that.
Romeo and Juliet is a tragic love story, but it’s still a love story and the beauty of stories is that they are open to interpretation. To me the story is about innocent, pure and stupid love, the type we daydream about and smile, tragic but beautiful.
“It’s too macabre for a wedding”. By whose standards tho? It hasn’t occurred to anyone that the person wearing the dress might very much like the macabre. Things are only an issue when we make it so. Everyone, breathe. Jesus!

i’m sorry but the backlash the romeo and juliet fit is causing is incredibly silly and it’s giving sheep
there is no romance without tragedy, everything ends in a type of tragedy
the scene the out fit was referencing was literally about them confessing their love to eachother
