This is the Barcelona obsession we are talking about. Whatever Barcelona want, we also want. Real Madrid never wanted to sign Bernardo Silva initially. They are signing him just because Barcelona wanted him. They rushed to sign Dumfries on a desperate 4-year deal for a 30-year-old player, just to make sure he doesn't end up at Barcelona. The same way they want to sign Gvardiol after learning that Flick's preferred option is Gvardiol and not Bastoni or Schlotterbeck. They submitted a €150m bid for Alvarez and publicly announced it (when do clubs start doing that?) just because they don't want him to end up at Barcelona and make the deal complicated. Now they are pushing to sign Marc Cucurella just because Barcelona also wanted him. This is how they signed Arda Güler and most of their legends. This is not normal; it is an acute obsession. Always wanting to block Barcelona by all possible means. A supposed 'biggest club' doesn't have a project other than blocking its rival. This is an example of the theory of people who have forgotten themselves

First of all, for me, Cubarsi is the best young center back in the world. However, realistically he should still be a backup to an experienced center back if we are being logical. Barcelona financial problem is what makes Cubarsi an undisputed starter. He shouldn't be playing more than 10-15 games for his age and inexperience. Right now, I will say Barcelona need two high level centre backs and both should be starter material. Not signing Bastoni and Cuti Romero was a big mistake. We physical mentality monsters are the back not twinks or children. Next summer I will go Van Dijk for free, I also like Calafiori because he is versatile.

The thing about players who switched clubs before and after Pep’s departure (Gundo and Rodri) perceive to themselves to have better philosophical knowledge about the sport than their current managers and teammates. Mentality monster gimmick instead of succumbing to the ideas of

One of the best things Flick brought to Barça was getting rid of the possession obsession that made our football painfully slow and predictable. We still play possession football, but under Flick, possession finally feels like a means to an end rather than an end in itself. We're more vertical, aggressive and willing to play forward quickly, and I don't want us to lose that. Lately, though, I've felt Flick is shifting back towards slower football and prioritising control. I'm not sure how much influence Rodri has on that, but Flick is ultimately the one responsible for how we play so i can never blame Rodri for this. Flick needs to not let Rodri's Pep-influenced mentality affect his decisions too much. Against Madrid, we sacrificed our attacking threat by playing slower without actually fixing our defensive problems. Slower football doesn't automatically mean more defensive security. This is why I want Flick to stick to his aggressive, vertical approach and stop listening to anyone pushing him away from it whether it's the media or the fans or the players.

You need to tweet more ngl. You have good football knowledge and I recommend Barca fans to follow you. You deserve more attention.
The constant side passes and back passes in the bid to prevent counters ended up causing those counters we feared. The players are young and such things will bore them. If we're going to attack, we attack! Pure Fearlessness despite our weaknesses was our strength in 24/25

This person is smart. This is a very, very good question. I think right now what is happening is that Hansi Flick has made some mistakes. First is taking the captaincy from De Jong. Second is giving Rodri too much influence on the team. However, I still think the situation can be corrected with Deco and Laporta. They just need to sit Rodri down and calm his ego. And let him know his role doesn't include anything that has to do with tactics and that he is only here for guidance of young players within the team. I am also starting to think Hansi Flick should not make Rodri an undisputed starter and should sometimes bench him for De Jong or create a competiton between the two just like with Fermin and Olmo. That would calm his ego too.

There appears to be an imminent conflict between the pragmatics (Raphinia, Yamal and Flick) and the ones that adhere to the Barcelona dogma (Rodri/Pedri?), who do you think will have the greater influence on the club and how will it turn out if the UCL goal is not achieved.

Might sound harsh, but I'm being real. I don't believe in him. From day one I've said he's a low IQ player who doesn't belong at Barça's level. Spending €80m on Gordon is a big financial mistake. My biggest concern is I don't even think pr believe he can improve. This is his ceiling. I see no potential.

On the other hand, I'm happy for Bayern Munich that Kane won the Ballon d'Or. The club has been robbed many times. 2013 with Ribery, then Lewandowski in 2020. Justice is restored. They finally have a winner. I'd have liked Lamine to win, but Kane deserves it too. Congrats to him and Bayern.

*I will add evidence in the comments* Let's not act ignorant here. People saying he destroyed the team might be going too far, but they're judging by the atmosphere and early patterns. Patterns I've avoided discussing because we were winning and I didn't want controversy. Since Rodri arrived, he's been critical of our style. Every post match interview is about keeping possession and not always attacking. Right after he came, Flick started talking about possession a lot too. That's Rodri's influence. Reports even say Rodri acts like a second coach in the dressing room and Flick has given him too much power. Against PSG and Madrid, Rodri was conservative and played cowardly. Too many Backward and sideways passes wrapped in 'possession' mask. Even when there was obvious spaces to attack vertically. This approach is anti Flick and contradict the flick intense attacking style the fans enjoy. It is Boring and slow as we were against Real Madrid. I'm not saying Rodri is a problem. But he seems to want us to play his way instead of adapting to the style we enjoy.
The concept of people shitting on Rodri and saying he "destroyed the superteam" when we were literally WAY WORSE at this time of the season last year.

My only issue with football is that I don't see it emotionally. At all. If it were up to me, some players would have been gone in the summer. I feel there's redundancy in midfield. Players who don't offer anything different, like Bernal and Gavi. I'd sell both in January and sign a goal scoring CM and a box to box midfielder. Those profiles are easy to name but hard to find, well that is why we have a sporting director and his duty is to make sure we have balance. We need variety in midfield. Different qualities. Not four number 6s. Pedri is our only creative midfielder. That's not good for tactical flexibility.

Who should we sign and who should we sell? Realistically.

Mbappe and Lamine did not lose because of PR campaigns. Secondly, Harry Kane did as much interviews as the aforementioned, the difference is that his name won’t generate clicks like them. Let’s start with the interview he did with Owen Hargreaves on TNT, and in that interview, Hargreaves played voice notes of other players like Michael Owen wishing him well. This was a month ago and it didn’t generate up to 120k views, which buttresses my earlier point, watch here: youtu.be/JLwv_xIg5JI Kane did another interview in August with Gazzetta dello Sport, he specifically even said the golden boot was great but he wanted the BDOR. He was even saying what more would he have to do? (Link here: gazzetta.it/en/football/cham…). On the red carpet tonight, that same phrase was repeated. He did another interview with Marca in September, where he said the 73 goals speaks for itself, link here: marca.com/en/football/bundes… He also did another interview with The Athletic. You can check that. There were also little nuggets here and there from him across different interviews. People like Fabrizio are known to farm. Mbappe could have done one interview where a journalist asks him questions, guess what, Fabrizio will break this small interview into several tweets. To us, we’re saying Mbappe and Lamine are talking too much, but you won’t believe it’s just one interview Fabrizio has posted 25 times. I clocked it not long ago when I saw an interview myself. Look at all these interviews I quoted, Fab could do that for Kane and generate as many headlines as possible, but maybe they won’t give him the number he’s looking for. Again, Kane had as much interviews as the rest of them.
When Mbappé and Yamal started doing interviews and pushing PR campaigns, I had a feeling they might lose the Ballon d’Or. Harry Kane was wise enough to stay silent, humble and focused. To every talented young footballer dreaming of winning the Ballon d’Or, my advice is simple: leave the Premier League, that league is too serious and will never allow you to express yourself. You can only come back as a superstar. Congratulations to Harry Kane once again.

Yes, I still think signing Rodri was the right call. But Rodri needs to be humble and accept he's here to adapt to Flick's football, not the other way around. Possession without urgency is dead in 2026. The game is about directness, verticality, and intensity now. His first few games were direct. The last two have been horrible. He kills transitions. Too many backward passes, too many sideways passes. It looks like he wants to play his own boring way. He also needs to stop giving tactical interviews after matches criticising what the team did wrong. He is starting to move like Gundogan.

30% of Harry Kane goals last season were penalties. – Didn't win Champions League. – Didn't win World Cup. – Didn't win UCL golden boot. – Didn't win World Cup golden boot. – Didn't win Bundesliga player of the season.
