I never use this forum for complaints, but since several scholars are facing this this out let me share just how ridiculous @FedExIndia and GOI requirements @PiyushGoyal for receiving books from abroad are becoming. This is crazy regulation in miniature. A publisher sent me a book. Notice arrives weeks later that book is being returned for incomplete KYC. 1/3

Sometimes, I read a book review & wish the writer had gone beyond western literary traditions (WLTs) to give us a more substantial critique. Yes, even in India, where books often get reviewed w.r.t. WLTs vs India's many other storytelling traditions+structures. Let's do better.

South Asia needs more literary zines. There's a fair bit of mediocre writing passed off as great in Western zines, themselves acknowledged as great by their Western peers. Nobody comparable showing them up in English in South Asia. For that to happen, east would need to pay in $
