Just when I thought the QB situation was as bad as it could get, @ProFootballTalk wants MINN to trade for Daniel Jones🤣 If O'Connell doesn't bench Murray he is going to lose the team. At least give Wentz a shot.
@thorku
Thoughts on week 8
1. The Bengals are capable of losing anytime and against any opponent. Any team with Burrow, Chase and Higgins has to be good. Cincy is undisciplined; multiple procedure penalties, botched handoffs, poor play calling and shoddy defense is a direct reflection on Head Coach Zach Taylor.
Myself and 349 other people are certainly glad we don't have to pick the Bengals in Circa survivor again.
2. The Jets spit another game up yesterday. It just seems like they choke down the stretch of games. I like Aaron Glenn, but I think they need a coaching change for next season. The roster is decent and with the draft capital they have, the Jets should be a playoff team next season.
3. The Vikings need to bench Kyler Murry. You could see the rage on Justin Jefferson's face during the game. The players know they have a super bowl contending team if they just get an average QB.
I have to eat crow and say Professor was right; I would kill if the Vikes had Kirk Cousins RN 🤣
4. All 4 quarters in the Bucs-Falcons game were played in a driving rainstorm. Baker Mayfield did not complete one pass, but he is the absolute best QB to have going in those conditions. Bucs might win the division.
Very pleasant watch when having Tampa and under.
5. The Steelers are a sneaky good team. Roger's lack of mobility is the one thing that could hinder them. I bet them to make the playoffs and go over 9.5 wins before the Cleveland game yesterday which they completely dominated.
6. That Cowboys game was disheartening. I'm not sure I even know what the problem is because there are so many things. The one thing you thought you could count on was the offense, and that unit sucked yesterday.
I'm buried in Dallas futures and lost the teaser yesterday, but surprisingly they are not out of the division race.
7. The Eagles are pathetic. I have them power rated as the worst team in the league RN. It was a sweat, but the under got there last night.
8. I seldom feel bad for professional athletes, but I'm cringing watching Justin Herbert play football. Seems like a great kid, and the look on his face is gut wrenching. I hope he can figure it out.
9. The Baltimore Raven situation is dire to say the least. They have to play Thursday night and I'm not sure WTF they can do at this point.
10. Keep your eye out for the Colts fire sale this week, after the drubbing they took from Jacksonville. I'm Hoping Pittsburgh gets Josh Downs, and I think the Packers have a shot at Johnathan Taylor. HC Steichen is a heavy favorite to be the first coach fired.
I didn't see Mrs. Irsay taking notes on the field. Maybe because it was raining.
2-2 yesterday with Seahawks -3 tonight, 19-12 on the season.
Professor had 2 easy total winners which I tailed and hopefully some of you did as well.
Zack caught a bad break with Lamar going down.

Pollard full go for Sunday at Bengals. There's always next week.
The Titans held RB Pollard out of practice for 2 days without an injury designation. Strong chance he gets traded very soon. #Vikings

-Why would MINN trade Jennings? They are just starting to get him involved with the offense.🤔
-I would not give more than a 5th for Brian Thomas and even then, I'm not sure I want him.
Players likely to be traded:
Brian Thomas Jr.
Jauan Jennings
Josh Sweat

Thoughts on week 7
1. Seattle QB Slingin Sammy Darnold was flawless last night aside from the INT he threw before half. If Darnold continues to play well, Seattle could very well return to the Super Bowl.
2. Don't count that 29-20 loss to Atlanta against the 49ers. The team was beat up, off a short week and traveling to the east coast. A tougher spot there could not be. Brock Purdy continues to impress.
3. Don't let the 27-24 close Titans -Browns game fool you. Tenn got out gained 491- 322 and the turnovers were even. Titans are clearly the worst team in football, and I don't think it's close.
4. I knew the Saints were inferior on both sides of the line of scrimmage but didn't realize how much. NO combined 0-line and front 7 are among the worst in the league. Saints had 18 yards rushing vs Pitt and gave up 150.
5. I know the Vikings are not as good as the 6-0 record. QB Murray played OK but does not throw down field enough. I'm not sure how capable he is at doing so, and if HC O'Connell is being conservative because he knows this.
If they fall behind in games vs good offenses, they are in trouble.
6. Miami got a big win yesterday, and QB Malik Willis had an off the chart 99.5 QBR. Willis is proving that he's not a bad option at QB, and the Dolphins might not be a pushover the rest of the season.
7. The Bengals layed it on Baltimore in the 2nd half 35-0, taking a big step toward winning the AFC North. QB Huntley is a decent backup, but Baltimore is in desperate need of getting Lamar back.
8. I thought The Lions going for 4th down from they're own 25 with 7 Minn left in a tie game was completely idiotic until I heard Mike Tomlin explain it.
Tomlin said Campbell went for 4th down because if he punted, he was afraid Green Bay would eat up the clock, and the Lions would never get the ball back. He's 100% correct.
I never watched the Sunday night preview show until this year with Tomlin. I think he's really entertaining, and I guarantee the pre-game ratings are up because of him.
9. I think it's time for the Raiders to turn the QB duties over to rookie Mendoza. The team is not going anywhere and I'm not sure he will not do much worse than Cousins 26.3 QBR yesterday.
10. The Giants win over the Texans was a complete shocker to me. The G-men out gained Houston 420-237. I definitely underestimated the Giants, and the big win actually puts them in the driver's seat to win the very weak NFC East.
Speaking of better effort, 4-0 on the podcast this week bringing the record to 17-10 on the season.
Our ratings are up from last year and we appreciate the support.

I'm thinking Vikings
@VegasBranson
The Colts have received strong trade interest in Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner, and no player is expected to be off-limits – if they decide to sell before the Nov. 10 deadline.
That and much more in the Week 7 Insider Notebook at The Sweep: tompelissero.substack.com/p/…
Don't count the Eagles out just yet

Godell makes the players and coaches stay silent, but he cannot control the wives.
FU @nflcommish
TJ Watt's wife, Dani, posted on her Instagram Story on Monday a response to the following statement by the NFL, reported by CBS: “The NFL says it is continuing forward with plans for the upcoming Steelers-Saints game amid unrest in Paris.”
Her response was: “Tell me how this makes sense???”
I agree with TJ's wife's sentiment.
Thoughts on last night
-The niners have 5 sure fire HOF players plus if Purdy keeps his play up for another few years, make it 6.
RB CMC, LB Warner, WR Evans, TE Kittle, OT Williams
-Everyone waits for aging WR Mike Evans to decline, but he keeps playing at the highest elite level.
-Wash QB Jaden Daniels is a good player, but I'm seriously doubting his football IQ after last week's end of OT disaster.
Plus, last night on 4th and 3 from the 12, he just casually throws the ball away, instead of tossing it in the vicinity of a teammate.
IT'S 4TH DOWN JADEN!!!!
- The last drive, where Washington got a phantom illegal contact penalty on a 4th and long play, they had 2nd and 3 from around the 15 with a little over 2 min to play. OC Blough calls a pass play incomplete stopping the clock.
It was a massive blunder, because with a run play you move closer to a first down plus the clock goes down to 2 min warning and there is extra time to strategize for the rest of the drive. You also want to score with as little time left as possible.
It is little things like this that mostly go unnoticed that make coaching advantages so important in the NFL.
