I’ll leave the macro overreactions to the three game sample to others on here. Tantrums aren’t my thing. Keep things in perspective. It’s three games.
Three games in and all you can say about the Nets is they have a lot they have to work on. From Jordi Fernandez down to the end of the bench, this group simply has to play a better brand of basketball. They’re not the most talented team but they certainly have enough to win games. Effort & attention to detail has to return to being non-negotiable. The schedule doesn’t get any easier for a bit but the games keep coming. They need to find a win soon.

How many times could the Nets have miscommunication on a ball screen coverage? They look like they never practice.

Pacers are +21 at the 3-point line. That will do it.

At the half, Julius Randle, Michael Porter Jr., and Egor Dëmin have combined for just 3-of-19 shooting from the floor. Not good enough.

I spoke too soon. Very poor close to the first half defensively. 11-4 Pacers run to close the half to open up a 9 point lead. I think Jordi Fernandez went a bit too long with Moe Wagner before the half.
Moe Wagner has responded tonight. Day’Ron Sharpe has been really good as well. Nets are getting good production out of the center spot. This has also been Brooklyn’s best defensive half in the early season. Just need some shots to go down now. The Nets’ trio of Julius Randle, Michael Porter Jr., and Egor Dëmin are all struggling to make shots.

Silly to think Jaxson Dart v. JJ McCarthy will be a debate next offseason. But it will be a debate in January if the Giants host a playoff game.

Billy Reinhardt retweeted
#Nets coach Jordi Fernandez confirmed that Mikel Brown Jr.'s injury designation (back) is more preventative and maintenance. There is no new injury or relapse. The rookie will be good to go Tuesday at the #Celtics #NBA

Old school bullying/tough love > modern day nurturing. John Harbaugh challenged the Giants RBs and run game and they just won the Giants the game.

What a win by the Giants! Total team effort. They played great.

Dominic Zvada is losing the Giants games at this point. Can’t miss multiple field goals in multiple games.

Giants truly outplayed the Texans in the first half, yet go into the locker room tied.

Giants offense looked as dynamic and multi-dimensional in that opening drive with JJ McCarthy as they’ve looked since Week 1 with Jaxson Dart.

What a deep ball from JJ McCarthy to Malik Nabers.

There are moments on film where the defensive effort/rotations have to be better but Julius Randle & Michael Porter Jr. have been great together so far. The analytics actually say they’ve been great on both ends together.
Two sides to the ball

More of this, less of that.
Only two games but the adjustment is quite clear — Jordi Fernandez seemed to agree last night with the pivot to Josh Minott and Chaney Johnson.

No Jalen Duren Friday against the Nets
Detroit Pistons say center Jalen Duren suffered a right hamstring strain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
