Without knowing anything about the profile or viability of this pitch, I'll say Suárez could definitely use another secondary to keep guys off his fastball, and particularly one that falls in the big 10 o'clock movement gap pictured below (which a slider in theory would).

Maryland approved $135 million in bond financing for improvements to Oriole Park today. The goal is to install a new videoboard and sound system ahead of Opening Day 2026, per an Orioles spokesperson. There will be a temporary sound system upgrade this season.

• Traded for another starting pitcher
• Signed one of their best players to an extension
Designated hitter/outfielder Brent Rooker in agreement with A’s on five-year, $60M extension, source tells @TheAthletic. Vesting option can take the deal to six years, $90M.
