What happens to your bitcoin if you don’t wake up tomorrow? Eric Summers (@ericscalibur) estimates 90 to 95% of Bitcoiners have no plan for it. If your keys die with you, your stack goes with you. So Eric, who drove from Texas to El Zonte and now helps Bitcoiners at the Bitcoin Hardware Store (@tbhs_sv), built his own answer. He demos it live, and it takes about two minutes, keeps lawyers and exchanges out of it, and lets you do the one thing you’re told never to do with a seed phrase. Your Bitcoin plan isn’t complete until someone you trust can recover it. Watch the full episode below 👇

What makes a Texan pack his whole life into a Toyota Tacoma and drive a month south to a country he’d never even heard of? In 2023, Eric Summers @ericscalibur was convinced the US was headed for collapse. A Salvadoran friend told him to come see El Salvador for himself. Ten days and one humbling surf session at K59 later, he was sold. Bitcoin was legal tender, and everything he learned about Bukele looked like green lights. So he drove down… ...explaining his drone and telescope to border guards along the way. Didn’t end up great. Today he works at the Bitcoin hardware store in El Zonte (@tbhs_sv) and is on his path to Salvadoran citizenship 🇸🇻 Ready for another incredible story from Bitcoin Country? In December 2025, leaders of more than a dozen Bitcoin circular economies across Africa sat in one room for the first time. Each had taken the model @Bitcoinbeach started in El Zonte, El Salvador, and adapted it to their own community. Bitcoin Beach's report names 15 projects from nine countries, including Bitcoin Ekasi (@BitcoinEkasi) in a Mossel Bay township, Afribit Kibera (@afribitkibera) in Nairobi and BTC Shule (@btcshule) in a village in Burundi. They met in Mauritius because visa, travel and financial barriers keep many African builders out of global Bitcoin events. @zackdorseyx filmed it. The clips are coming out now, including @thecoachayobami of @BitKwaofficial and @BrindonMwiine of @BitcoinKampala. Next stop: the Global Bitcoin Circular Economies Summit in El Zonte, November 19 and 20, open to the public for the first time. Check the first comment to read the full story. 👇

I started the Bitcoin Country Podcast specifically to highlight all these ways El Salvador leads in Bitcoin adoption. Now available on a new YouTube channel, check out the episode with @romanmartinezc for the Salvadoran perspective on the real Bitcoin Country: youtube.com/watch?v=S3Y3yjyt… But don’t just trust. Come verify this November for Freedom Month, especially BitcoinHistorico.com November 11-12. Then compare the grassroots adoption with other countries’ at the @Bitcoinbeach Global Circular Economies Summit on November 19-20. So many projects are doing great work, and this is the best way to learn from each other. Also come learn at the Bitcoin Capital Summit about El Salvador’s leadership in this underrated category on November 10. xitter.cf/JethroToro/status/2098…
"El Salvador is already Bitcoin Country, but it will be orange everywhere. That's the dream." @romanmartinezc and @Bitcoinbeach have inspired circular economies throughout El Salvador and the world. We discussed at last year's @btchistoricosv: youtube.com/watch?v=S3Y3yjyt… 🇸🇻🚀

Last year in Mauritius, 14 projects across Africa that took the El Zonte Bitcoin Circular Economy model and made it their own met in one room for the very first time. We were there with cameras rolling. Over the next few weeks we’re releasing clips from the minidoc we made: their stories, their successes, their struggles, and how they’re picking up the pieces and building their own future, on their own terms. 🌍 This is what a circular economy looks like when it spreads. The movement is coming home! The Global Bitcoin Circular Economies Summit returns to El Zonte, and this time it’s open to everyone. 🅱️🌐⭕️ Global Bitcoin Circular Economy Summit 📅 Nov 19-20 📍El Zonte

What if the fastest way to orange pill a business is one customer who makes Bitcoin part of the deal? Byron Espinoza had never used Bitcoin when a Bitcoiner walked into his three-month-old shop in El Salvador and made accepting it a condition of working together. He was a little afraid of it, so he read up, decided it was safe, and said yes. Now foreigners make up about a quarter of his business, he decides whether to hold the sats or move them to dollars, and he’s the one telling his friends to start accepting Bitcoin too. What won him over was how it works day to day. Payments are quick, it’s easier for him and for the customer, and he no longer sees it as a risk. He put it plainly to Mike. If accepting Bitcoin is what it takes to sell more, he’d do it without thinking about it. Bitcoin adoption in El Salvador spreads one customer at a time. Watch the full episode and tell us if you’d have said yes as fast as Byron did. [link below👇 ]
