JD Vance says Donald Trump won over his wife with one perfectly timed joke. The first time Trump spent real time with Usha, Theo Von had to ask the question everyone was probably thinking: "Did he flirt with her or not?" Vance said no. Trump was just being warm. He gave her a big hug, told her she was beautiful, and then asked what she thought about her husband being involved in politics. Usha gave him the most diplomatic answer possible. She talked about supporting JD, his commitment to public service, and his love for the people of Ohio. Then Trump chuckled and hit her with: "Yeah, my wife hates it, too." Everyone laughed. But Vance says that one joke completely changed the conversation. Usha stopped feeling like she was talking to the president... And started talking to just another guy. Sometimes all it takes to break the ice is one brutally relatable joke.

A great clip with no distribution is just a file on your phone. @clipur turns clippers into distribution. Brands post campaigns, clippers post clips, payouts follow verified views. Made a cinematic showcase of how it all fits together @youfadedwealth

While serving time in prison, Mike Tyson spent $210,000 to buy 3 white Bengal tigers after a phone call with his exotic car dealer. On Joe Rogan's podcast, Tyson revealed how the dealer sold him on the idea: I said, 'You can get some tigers?!' He said, 'Yeah, man, imagine how cool that would be you're in a Ferrari or a Lamborghini with a tiger next to you.'" Tyson paid $4,000 a month feeding them horse meat and slept with them in his bed until one attacked a trespasser and cost him $250,000.

When a retired doctor sued Gwyneth Paltrow for $3,100,000 over a Utah ski crash, she refused to settle out of court and countersued him for a single $1 bill. Worth $200 million, she spent hundreds of thousands flying in biomechanical physics experts and 3D animations just to prove he crashed into her. After the jury awarded her the $1.00, she walked past his table, touched his shoulder, and whispered: "I wish you well."

Snoop Dogg pays a full-time employee $50,000 a year just to follow him around and roll his blunts. Along with a salary, his roller gets free weed, private jet travel, and all-expenses-paid luxury hotels and has reportedly rolled over 450,000 blunts for him. On The Howard Stern Show, Snoop explained the job description: "That's his J-O-B, his occupation. On his resume, it says: 'What do you do? I'm a blunt roller. P-B-R, professional blunt roller.'" Snoop even gave them a raise due to inflation.

Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson made $48,000,000 in the NFL, but for his first 2 years in the league, he refused to rent an apartment and literally lived inside the Bengals stadium. He slept on a couch in the players' lounge, showered in the locker room, and ate free team meals. While teammates blew millions on diamonds, Chad bought fake jewelry at Claire's so he could save 83% of his salary: "Why am I buying a $50,000 watch? Time is free. People see me with it on and think it's real anyway because I'm Ochocinco."

Matthew McConaughey went 20 months without a single job offer after he told Hollywood he was done making romantic comedies. Studios tried to break him by raising his offer from $8M to $10M and finally offered him $14.5 million for one rom-com script. He turned it down flat: "Word finally got around Hollywood: 'McConaughey's not bluffing. Quit sending him romantic comedies!'" Right after the 2-year drought ended, he booked Wolf of Wall Street, True Detective, Interstellar, and won the Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club.

The crazier part: after turning down $14.5 million for that rom-com, McConaughey took just $200,000 upfront to film Dallas Buyers Club a 98.6% pay cut and lost 47 pounds for the role.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s biggest paycheck didn’t come from The Terminator. It came from a 1988 comedy where his upfront salary was $0. Universal Pictures refused to pay Arnold’s normal fee for Twins because executives thought an action star would flop in a comedy. So Arnold, Danny DeVito, and director Ivan Reitman made the studio a counteroffer: "If we don't take any salaries, we can shoot the movie for $16.5 million. Give us 40% of the backend instead." The studio signed immediately. Twins grossed $216 million paying Arnold over $40 million.

When Andy Cohen asked Arnold years later if he really made more than $40 million from Twins, Arnold smiled and said: "It was more than that. It was more than any movie I ever made. Because we got no money for the salary, but ownership with a piece of the back end. We went all the way to the bank with that." The funniest twist? After Twins crushed the box office, Hollywood studios immediately changed their internal contract rules to make sure actors could never pool together for a 40% gross backend split ever again.

Matt Damon turned down the biggest single-movie payday in Hollywood history: $250 million. In 2007, James Cameron called Damon personally and offered him the lead role in Avatar — plus 10% of the backend profits. Damon said no because he refused to abandon his Bourne Ultimatum director and crew during post-production. Avatar went on to gross $2.92 billion. Years later, Damon told John Krasinski about the offer. Krasinski stood up from the table and said: "Nothing in your life would be different today if you had done that movie, except you and I would be having this conversation in space."

Hollywood's biggest $100M+ role rejections: • Matt Damon turned down 10% of Avatar ($250M+) • Will Smith turned down Neo in The Matrix (Keanu made $250M) • Sean Connery turned down Gandalf in Lord of the Rings (15% of box office = $450M)

Crispin Glover walked away from Back to the Future Part II over a $125,000 offer, so the studio rebuilt his face on another actor Glover played George McFly in the 1985 original, the highest-grossing movie of that year When the sequel came around, he said the studio's best offer was $125,000 According to Glover, that was less than HALF what other returning cast members were offered Producer Bob Gale has said Glover's demands were too high for where his career was at the time Talks broke down, and the studio moved on without him But they didn't simply recast George They hired actor Jeffrey Weissman and gave him a fake chin, nose and cheekbones, made using molds of Glover's own face from the first film's old-age makeup They kept Weissman in the background, put him in sunglasses, even filmed him hanging upside down, and mixed in old footage of Glover Glover had never given permission to use his likeness, so he sued The case settled out of court for a reported $760,000 It's credited with leading to Screen Actors Guild rules that stop studios from recreating an actor's likeness this way Decades before AI deepfakes, Crispin Glover had already fought Hollywood over who owns your face

My take : whether or not $125k was fair, putting his face on another face without asking was way over the line
