Very saddened to learn about the loss of Simon Albury. He was a big supporter of @BlackBECTU's work including demanding greater transparency from Project Diamond and holding broadcasters to account. He was an ally against racism within our sector and will be greatly missed.

Tax breaks for film & TV have been proven to grow the UK industry, but it has not increased diversity. That is why the @LHC4MD is proud to announce we're undertaking new research on modelling diversity tax breaks to present to @DCMS and increase diversity. expressandstar.com/news/educ…

Irrespective of your view on Zionism, Israel & Palestine the killing of a journalist (deliberate or otherwise) is a tragedy and we should come together as a community & show our support. If Al Jazeera is correct and the killing is deliberate this is incredibly serious.
NEW: Al Jazeera says its correspondent @ShireenNasri was killed by Israeli troops this morning in Jenin, occupied West Bank. The network says she was covering a raid by Israeli forces and was wearing a vest clearly marked with PRESS.

Theatremakers who play down their middle-class origins and promote a narrative of unceasing struggle are doing a disservice to those who genuinely lack privilege in the arts, says @lyngardner – honesty would go a long way bit.ly/3HcOgDE

Have you filled in the Telling Our Stories survey into the experiences of ethnically diverse #scriptwriters in film, gaming, radio, television + theatre? Get your voice heard + help inform the next step of our #EqualityWrites campaign Please Retweet! surveymonkey.co.uk/r/scriptw…
From previous experience whenever the BBC has a funding crisis they get rid of ethnic minority staff first.
We said it time and time again but instead of engaging, we are ignored.
BFI Diversity Standards Review Final Report fails to address Race and Ethnicity. Standards can be met with no Ethnic representation and nothing is being done about it‼️ @philippachilds @BlackBECTU @marcusryder @LHC4MD

We guess it will involve another consultation.
More money spent on consultations to state an outcome that we had warned the BFI about when they first unveiled this strategy. And despite paying public money to avoid talking to the unions, the BFI produce a report with no ways to improve the situation.

How do we love or value ourselves when we are not only absent from stories but, when present, represented as clichés, stereotypes, less than full human beings, with story lines that are limited in scope and restricted in ideas of what we are allowed to be? writersmosaic.org.uk/content…
