"Stage," Brett Morgenโ€™s immersive David Bowie concert experience, premiere Feb. 14, 2027 at Berlinโ€™s Uber Arena. โ€œThere is no question in my mind that this is the best film performance of David Bowie's career,โ€ Morgan tells Variety. โ€œI don't think I ever saw David more engaged or present or happier than this show... David is the credited producer on the film. It was commissioned and produced by David Bowie. Nothing [better] is going to emerge." The experience was created from meticulously restored footage taken from the final dates of the tour in London in July 1978. wp.me/pc8uak-1lI3eY

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we werenโ€™t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. โ€œBut Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to riskโ€”getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?โ€. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in Londonโ€™s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

What an immense loss. Learning about both Patrick Stewart and Walter Koenig passing in the same week is heartbreaking. The entire Star Trek cast has inspired and motivated so many of us throughout decades. While it was a television show, to some of us who grew up watching Star Trek, the cast was more than just actors and actresses playing characters; they felt like parents who guided us in life when we were searching for inspiration and wisdom when we couldnโ€™t find it at home. I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of your friend. May they both rest in peace. -----\\โ“‚//----- Arshad Snikerkiss

Hit me HARD. Was at his first con EVER , Denver / March 88. Remember what a sweetheart he was. Clueless as to protocol-he walked down to the dealerโ€™s room talking to usโ€ฆ the fans, before security got wind and wisked him away. This is Just devastating. You hit the nail on the head. The humanity. He took it seriously. Heartfelt words from Mr Shatner, I can tell. Sad โ€ฆsad day.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admirationย for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenigโ€™s passing. Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed. What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community. At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades. That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him. My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.

Star Trek TOS is not an ensemble show. It had its 3 leads along with a cast of supporting characters -- Walter Koenig said as much in several interviews. What I believe he missed was that, due to the immense charisma and talent of the supporting cast, the format (cont'd)
