High-temperature industrial heat (above 400°C) accounts for roughly 10% of global #CO2 emissions. Some 75% of this heat is generated by burning coal, gas and oil. 🏭 And it matters because factories are shutting down as we speak. Imported fossil fuels are no longer a reliable source of competitive #energy. And for some scenarios, electrification is either not possible or just not competitive. ... 💡 So whilst traditional nuclear power plants are ready to deploy NOW for our electricity needs, in the next few years high temperature reactors can deliver heat and steam for industry.
