We took our grassroots, no corporate money campaign to Vancouver on Monday. Thanks to the 100 supporters who turned out!
Appreciate all the fathers across Washington. Thanks for what you do. I am enjoying my final few months with the twins before they head off to college-backpacking with Jack earlier this week and watching one of Katie’s last softball tournaments this weekend.

Softball dad duties keeping me from the State Democratic Party convention in Spokane this weekend, so sent in this video to thank our grassroots Democrats who work so hard. (And Katie had a big day— 3-4 at the plate with two doubles. Good job, kid.)
I filed this case when I was Attorney General and won in the lower courts, so gratifying to see this result. As AG, I led the nation in bringing cases to enforce our state’s campaign finance laws. This victory represents the largest campaign finance penalty anywhere in the United States— ever. seattletimes.com/seattle-new…
Packed room in Spokane for our Fourth Annual Luncheon - it’s one of my favorite events! Appreciate the grassroots support from across our state.
Nearly half of our state’s population will experience menopause in their lifetime. It’s important that employers provide reasonable accommodations for people experiencing symptoms. That’s why I signed an Executive Order to direct state agencies to develop a standard for the workplace. Everyone deserves a place to work that is sensitive to their health.

Last ever softball tournament in Everett for Katie this weekend— many wonderful memories here over the years, and she went out in style by throwing a shutout. My late father, Murray Ferguson, was an excellent pitcher for Everett High School WAY back in the day, and I’ve always felt him watching over Katie every time she took the mound here.

Jim, you’re a big talker, but we all know you won’t have the guts to actually take me on. seattlered.com/jason-rantz/j…
It looks like voters will get a say on whether to maintain the tax on income over $1 million that was passed earlier this year- and I look forward to the public having their say on this important policy. To be clear, this reform of our regressive tax code included expansion of tax credits for working families, relief for small businesses, and investments in K-12 and affordable childcare. One more thing voters should know: so long as I am Governor I will veto ANY attempt to lower the threshold or raise the rate of this tax-- we are asking those who make the most to pay a little more, and providing relief to workers and small businesses. Let's keep it that way.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The tax is not constitutionally locked to incomes over $1M; Democrats rejected Amendment 696 requiring voter-approved limits on the threshold and rate. The bill's necessity clause prevents referendum, so voters can only challenge it via initiative. lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/biennium/2025-… app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?Bi…
Today, and every day, we remember and thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.
On Memorial Day, we also recognize the families, loved ones, and fellow service members who carry that loss every day.
Please join me in taking a moment to remember and honor our fallen heroes. 🇺🇸
Happy National Brother’s Day! Spent the morning with three of my five brothers— and the sister who had to grow up with all those boys…
While Trump and the Republican-led Congress are abandoning our leadership on addressing the climate crisis, Washington state is moving forward. We just launched the Washington Zero-Emission Incentive Program to help businesses switch to electric large vehicles. As your Governor, I will continue to look for ways to fight climate change for future generations. king5.com/article/news/local…
I am the only Governor in the country who doesn't accept donations from large corporations or corporate PACs. Instead, we hold hundreds of grassroots events in communities large and small across the state. Last week we had a great turnout in Bow!
Road to taking back Congress goes through Texas. It was great to welcome James Talarico to Seattle. Check him out! jamestalarico.com/
Standing room only at the 21st Annual Shrimp Feed! Thanks to all our grassroots supporters who turned out. And a special thanks to the volunteers who prepared another great meal!
President Trump put out the call to rig the system in order to maintain the Republican majority in Congress, and red states are answering. I support efforts to level the playing field. In Washington state, we would need a two-thirds majority in both the House and Senate to change our redistricting process. If we get that supermajority, I would not only support a redistricting effort — I would lead it. seattletimes.com/seattle-new…
Happy Mother’s Day, Colleen. Our kids couldn’t ask for a better mom and role model. And thanks to all the moms in Washington who do so much.
Jack finished his track season in style by running the anchor leg in the 400 meters relay. He got the baton in a distant third place, but ran down the leaders to bring home the win. He’s getting pretty fast! Nice job, kid.
