Smartest thing Pat Murphy did as manager of the Brewers was hire former Oregon State legend Pat Casey as a consultant!!! #CollegeApproachWins

Itโs been a blast to watch the 2027s over the last two days at @EastCoastPro1 & Quincy Pratt kicks Day 3 off here w/ a backside 1B ( 92 EV ).
Subtle toe-tap w/ adjustable barrel that moves really well for 6-foot-4 frame.

Cooper Pratt is starting to find his flow at the big league level coming out of the all star break! The swing and miss is still there a bit, but the damage on contact is FANTASTIC

Back in February, the Clarion Ledger made 3 predictions into the MHSAA, MAIS season.
- Magnolia Heights begins, ends season No. 1 (didnโt lose to an MS team).
- Petal would win 7A (won title 2-0 over Oxford).
- PCS wins MHSAA title year after MAIS (beat Booneville for 3A):

Mississippi high school baseball starts and ends at Magnolia Heights.
9 straight State Championships.
17 Overall State Titles.
Tough. Gritty. Blue collar kids. No excuses. No shortcuts. Just a relentless standard that continues to produce SEC and MLB talent.

The dangerous part about success isn't the success..
It's what it does to your standard.
- You have a good weekend.
- Square up a few balls.
- Somebody tells you you're one of the best in the conference or tournament.
And without noticing, your training changes.
- The reps get softer.
- You skip the boring stuff.
- You stop chasing the thing that got you here.
Nobody decides to coast.
It just happens.
Your effort quietly drops to match how good you think you are instead of how good you're trying to become.
And you usually can't feel it.
You still think you're working.
You're just not working like you were.
Meanwhile the guy nobody's talking about is still grinding.
Not more talented than you. He just never let a little recognition tell him he could let off the gas.
That's the gap that separates. Not talent. Standards between the two players.
So if things are going well right now, good.
Just don't let it be the reason you start doing less.
> Send this to who needs it
> Save it for when you need it

Every player on the planet needs to hear this โ over and over again:
Remove all the โstuffโ โ results, expectations, distractions โ and just compete.
Compete. Compete. Compete.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to becoming the ultimate competitor. Breathe. Center your thoughts. Lay it on the line and compete.

This is the 10th consecutive season that #8 Southern Miss has finished with 40 or more wins.
Here's a complete list of college baseball programs with an active streak of 10+ seasons with 40+ wins:
1. Southern Miss
That's the end of the list.
Southern Miss achieved 40 wins with victories over #7 Oregon State, #13 Mississippi State, #15 Ole Miss, and #18 Alabama (who was run-ruled 14-to-4).
USM is also in the Top 10 in attendance.
There is nothing "mid-major" about the program in Hattiesburg.
