This is today’s quote Protecting our elections starts in the states. State & local election officials are the first responders when democracy is in danger, and they've been chronically underfunded for years. @JLydgate & Joe Goldman make the case for enduring support. 🧵

This is coming from somebody whose partner is Governor of Massachusetts and doesn’t believe in enforcing federal immigration laws But somehow, we’re supposed to believe they believe in supporting voter laws Got it 👌

TRAGIC AND PREVENTABLE DEATH: Ryan O’Shea, 21, a University of New Haven student and club hockey senior assistant captain, was killed Oct. 16 in a head-on crash on I-91 in North Haven, CT, when a pickup truck traveling the wrong way struck his vehicle. The driver was Guillermo Carmona-Lopez, a 31-year-old Mexican illegal alien. He should never have been in the United States in the first place, let alone behind the wheel. In May 2013, Border Patrol arrested Carmona-Lopez after he illegally entered the country. He was issued an expedited removal and removed. He then illegally reentered — a felony — and was arrested again by Border Patrol. He was issued a final order of removal and later reentered at an unknown time and place. O’Shea was returning to campus after a hockey game. He was studying criminal justice and aspired to join the NYPD. His family joins the many American families who have been left with unimaginable loss. Loss that was preventable. This is our why.
EXCLUSIVE: University Hockey Captain Killed in Wrong Way Collision With Twice-Deported Mexican Illegal in Sanctuary Connecticut A beloved member of the University of New Haven community was killed in a head-on collision with a driver who is in the U.S. illegally, federal authorities have confirmed with Border Hawk. The tragedy unfolded at around 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 16 in North Haven, Connecticut. Ryan O’Shea, 21, was driving southbound on Interstate 91 when a pickup truck traveling in the wrong direction slammed into his Honda Accord, causing his vehicle to strike two SUVs, Connecticut State Police (CSP) explained in an accident summary. O’Shea, who was on his way back to campus after playing in a hockey game, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, who suffered “serious life-threatening injuries,” was identified as 31-year-old Guillermo Carmona-Lopez, a resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut. “In May 2013, Border Patrol arrested Carmona-Lopez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, after he illegally entered the country. Carmona-Lopez was issued an expedited removal and was removed from the country,” the Department of Homeland Security told us. “He then illegally reentered the country near the Rio Grande Valley after being removed—a felony—and was once again arrested by Border Patrol in May 2013. Carmona-Lopez was issued a final order of removal on May 30, 2013. He then reentered the country at an unknown time and place.” It is currently unclear if Carmona-Lopez will face charges in connection with the crash. A resident of Stony Point, New York, O’Shea served as senior assistant captain of the university’s club hockey team and also chapter president of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was studying criminal justice with a concentration in police science and aspired to work for the New York Police Department. “Ryan was not only a great leader, but he was a caring friend to anyone around him. He always knew how to light up a room and make people laugh, no matter the time. Ryan’s leadership and the memories he has made will never be forgotten,” Kappa Sigma wrote in an Instagram post memorializing O’Shea. Ryan’s sisters said he “always found a way to make everything positive.” “He was always trying to go out of the way to help others and include them in new spaces if they didn’t know anyone,” Kiera O’Shea stated. Two memorial scholarships have been established in Ryan O’Shea’s name. Contributions can be made here. We contacted CSP to request more information on this investigation and Carmona-Lopez’s current condition and will provide updates if they become available.

Excellent explanation Mr. Lyons Now supposedly the most educated people in the country can read and understand what a corrupt criminal Governor Healey is. Why does she continually put unvetted illegal aliens ahead of Massachusetts constituents? Answer : For power & political gain

New England’s carbon compliance costs are surging, and ratepayers are picking up the tab. A new Fiscal Alliance Foundation study finds RGGI could add an estimated $1.49 billion to New England wholesale electricity costs in 2026 alone. At September’s allowance price, the RGGI carbon cost for a representative natural-gas plant reached $17.18/MWh, now higher than the $13.88/MWh cost of the natural gas itself. And the pressure is set to increase. Beginning in 2027, RGGI enters a much tighter phase, with the program’s base emissions cap falling 73% between 2027 and 2033. #Breaking: A #Massachusetts judge will decide tomorrow if state officials can move forward with providing a teenaged girl with a medical #gender transition against her parents’ will as part of a ongoing and high profile child custody battle. Joseph and Arlene Kutzko have been fighting to regain custody of their daughter, Sophie, now 17, after she was taken from them by DCF two years ago after they refused to allow her to undergo the procedure. They say her high school secretly initiated the process without their knowledge. #Massachusetts #Kutzko #gender #trans #Northboro #politics #mapoli bostonherald.com/2026/10/28/…
