Three days until launch! Yesterday our families arrived and we had some very welcome family time on the beach in the Florida sunshine. My daughter’s rocketry skills are on point! Let’s light this rocket! CREW-12!
That’s a wrap on the Q&A with Crew-12. Take a deep dive into the human health studies planned during their long-duration science mission aboard the @Space_Station, including adaption to low gravity and a new study examining subtle changes in blood flow. go.nasa.gov/4qqvJK2

ASGSR: Defend NASA Biological and Physical Sciences Division Science Call to Action
The President’s Budget Request was recently released and includes severe cuts to NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. More specifically, NASA’s Biological and Physical Sciences Division, which funds a lot of our research, faces a draconian 72% reduction in funds from $87.5M to just $25M. This budget includes only $13M for Physical Sciences research, $4M for Space Biology, and $4M for the CERISS initiative. More: <astrobiology.com/2025/06/asg…

Laurie Leshin has led JPL through the fires, funding cuts, and has to deal with tightening DEI rules.
She was the FIRST JPL Director to secure 8 weeks paid leave for parents.
A fierce advocate for science and people.
Her leadership will be deeply missed.
