Hey Arc users 👋 We hope you’ll try Brave. Brave is known for privacy and ad blocking but has many other features you’ll enjoy like: - Vertical tabs - Split view - Containers (multiple accounts in the same window) - Sidebar Import your settings from Arc for an easy switch!
We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026. That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community. Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward. We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how: · Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly. · Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact. · Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security. · The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional. Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.

Leo, the AI assistant in Brave, now offers end-to-end encrypted chat with GLM 5.3 Flash! Your browser encrypts each prompt before it leaves your device, so only an attested Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) can decrypt it. It's industry-leading privacy you can verify.

126 million people use @Brave every month. 53 million use it every day. It started in 2015, when @BrendanEich and @brianbondy set out to build a browser that works for YOU - NOT for whoever is tracking you. Two minutes, 2015 to today. Easter egg: the main theme of the score is the word BRAVE encoded into musical notes.

Less browser, more browsing. We are currently working on "Focus Mode", it needs more work, let us know what you think of it and what we can improve!

If you work on SEO, check how your site appears on Brave Search. Brave Search has its own independent web index. That index also powers the Brave Search API, which AI apps can use to retrieve web results. Start with your brand name, your products, and the questions your customers ask. Do the results surface the pages you'd expect? Are those pages useful answers? You can also search using site: followed immediately by your domain for a spot check of results from your site. If a search returns outdated or unhelpful results, use the feedback icons on the results page and tell us what you expected to find. Specific examples help us understand where the results need work.

Take app, browser, and OS updates more seriously than ever. The economics of exploitation are changing fast. Brave desktop build 1.94.121 includes the Chromium fix for CVE-2026-85046 [a V8 vulnerability for which Google confirms an exploit exists in the wild]. Now connect that with OpenAI’s latest results. GPT-6 Astra scored 100% on ExploitBench. This benchmark gives an AI agent a known V8 vulnerability, source code, debugging tools and the patch (but no reference PoC). It measures progress toward arbitrary code execution. V8 is the engine involved in the browser bug above. My takeaway: as exploit development gets easier, delaying security updates becomes harder to justify. A published patch gives defenders a fix. It can also give attackers clues about how to exploit devices that haven’t updated. If Brave says “Relaunch to update,” do it now.
⚠️ Today's browser update (v1.94.121) contains a fix for a Chromium vulnerability found to be exploited in the wild. You may have received the automatic Brave update already. If not, you can manually update by visiting 'About Brave' from the browser's ☰ menu. The Android update is waiting on Google Play Store review and should be out shortly.

@Brave grew to over 122M Monthly Active Users and 51M DAU in July 2026. Brave Search joined Chrome's global default search engine list. All browsers see a "summer slump," but our growth was stronger than past years, in part thanks to the World Cup driving new user growth. 1/4

Linux distributions we can confirm ship Brave as the default browser: - Zorin OS 17.3+ - Nobara Linux 42+ - RefreshOS That list should be longer. For distributions already shipping Chromium, switching to Brave does not mean trading away Chromium’s compatibility or security architecture. It means choosing stronger privacy defaults on top of that foundation. Brave removes Google-specific integrations that do not belong in a privacy-first default. It does not depend on a Google Account or Chrome Sync, does not fund advertising through cross-site behavioral profiling, and does not require users to install an extension for basic tracker protection. From the first launch, users get: - Shields enabled - Brave Search by default [powered by an independent index and without user profiling] - Third-party ad and tracker blocking - Cross-site cookie protections - Ephemeral third-party storage - Fingerprinting protections - Bounce-tracking defenses - Tracking-parameter removal - HTTPS upgrades - A native Rust content-blocking engine that does not depend on extension APIs Most users will never install an ad blocker, audit every setting, or replace their search engine. A good default should protect them immediately. For distributions already shipping Chromium, Brave is the stronger out-of-the-box default.
ICYMI @dhh, we recently launched Brave Origin. It’s the ad-free Brave experience you liked here, reduced to the essentials: Chromium compatibility and Shields, with Leo, Rewards, Wallet, VPN, News, the daily usage ping, crash logs, and product analytics compiled out. It’s free on Linux, and Omarchy already supports live theming. I think it would make a fantastic default for Omarchy. brave.com/origin/

Coming in Brave Nightly relatively soon, is LaTeX rendering in Leo. LaTeX lets Leo render mathematical notation as properly formatted equations instead of plain text. That means fractions, exponents, integrals, matrices, Greek letters, and more can all be displayed in a clean, familiar format. This is awesome for students who are using Brave!

You can try WebMCP with Leo in Brave Nightly right now 👀 WebMCP lets websites expose actions directly to Leo, so it can interact with sites in a more reliable and useful way instead of just trying to navigate the page like a human. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
Awesome work hooking up WebMCP w/ Leo by Jay at @brave. WebMCP allows websites to expose functionality to users, often even new functionality not possible to users browsing the web normally. I added a few webMCP functions to my website to demo it. We have some work to do on permission usability, but it's very cool to see it working. Note: You need to start Brave Nightly with --enable-blink-features=WebMCP (or brave://flags/#enable-webmcp-testing) to see it working for now
