Agent UX has gone through roughly four stages so far: - Stop button: It's thinking, you can kill it. That's it. - Queued messages: You can talk, and it reads them when it's done. - Steering: You can redirect it mid-run. - Responsive orchestrator: the thing you talk to never does the heavy work. It hands that to subagents in the background and controls them, so it's always free to answer you. What's next?

This is right, and also, building in the application space rn feels like being chased by a grizzly bear. h/t @ruedlinger for that analogy.
Worth watching this whole presentation by Pat. This particular slide is why I'm so excited about the next decade. I haven't experienced a bigger gap between capabilities and adoption in my short career.

If you’re making an agent: just let it manage its own context. Give it a clear_context tool that takes handoff context and nudge it once or twice between tool calls when its getting near some reasonable limit. This is what codex added recently. Works wonderfully.

Right now is the most interesting time in tech, when new value is created and @sandwich gets to do our favorite kind of work. So here’s an idea we had, to find the companies we want to invest in with great video: the Breadwinner Fellowship. Apply now. sandwich.co/breadwinner

Indie.vc was always the first fund I'd mention when asked about alternatives to venture capital. Indie.vc may be gone, but sustainable growth and more equitable funding are two trends that are here to stay. Excited for what's next @bryce! 🙏
Not the kind of news I look forward to sharing, but after 6 years of iterating on @indievc we're bringing an end to the program. This has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my career to write yet, but it's time to turn the page...

I'm really excited to publicly share our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion strategy, plans, and numbers wistia.com/about/diversity-e… Having had a few false starts with this work over the years with a lot of personal frustration and frustration from the team, here’s what I’ve learned:

Incorporate DE&I goals directly into your company goals. Don't have them sit separately from your financial targets and product objectives. If they’re separate, they’ll compete for attention and resources, which means they’ll end up with less of both.

I’m really proud to work with a team of people who are so passionate about this and committed to improving things, and I’m excited to continue working on making Wistia more diverse, equitable, and inclusive for as long as there is a Wistia. We have a lot to learn! 🤗
