A weeks Irish birding away from minding grandchildren, produced 2 Irish Lifers, Rose-breasted Grosbeak & Blackpoll Warbler, and a couple of great island birds I don't normally get close to, Lapland Longspur, Yellow-browed warbler, Red-billed Chough & Raven. #BirdsSeenIn2026
10 Years since my last Lapland Bunting sighting, just not this close, as it only feared dog walkers. Found on my old stomping ground by Mick Boyle, where my mother-in-laws second home was close to Kilcoole Strand, Wicklow. ebird.org/checklist/S4019339… #BirdsSeenIn2026
With all the Buff-breasted Sandpipers around Ireland at the moment, this popped up on my FB Memories 16/09/2020

At 9-30pm let our new pup out garden for last run of the day, noticed Buddleia bush covered in moths, grabbed my 15 tubs, caught a moth in each in 30mins.
Not surprised now that ALL were Silver Y (Autographa gamma). #MothsIreland

Now something completely different from me . . . .
Clematis 'Nelly Moser' putting on a great garden display for the second time this year.
Since you deadhead the first flush of flowers.
Thrives in our semi-shade to shade situation.
This will be a summer to remember.
Today my niece was leaving our house, she spots another 'Hummingbird' in our garden.
This is a daily occurrence for the last week or so.

15 mins after recording this video, I was stunned to see
4 Painted Lady Butterflies (Vanessa cardui), scarce in our garden, with 4 other species at the same time.
Friends reporting a big influx around the country.

On Tuesday Gone, my wife says "There's one of them Hummingbirds"
Turned on video, chased it for 2 minutes around the flowers, pressed stop.
Went looking back on phone to edit it, only to see I forgot to press SAVE.😭😫🤣.
