If you’re a builder, build a biz and raise your capital from a bank. Can attest to Molson’s point. I’ve raised ~$10M of capital my entire life (65,000 lb vehicles don’t fund themselves). I find it’s easier to build a $10M business, get to $10M EBITDA, get to $10M free cash flow. Then, random people work your network to get on your calendar and beg to throw $20M at you. Magic. Then, use your building skills to figure out if you want OPM (other people’s money) and what you’d do with it. @jimbelosic is the poster boy for this. But, before you take anyone’s money, tell them exactly what you’ll do with it and what you won’t do. Words like “pro-rata rights” and “information rights” go right out the window. Bring it up once and you’re blocked from my outlook and iPhone. You want to invest in @ChangRobotics? You better be on board with slinging the Gospel while building the most advanced robotics systems on earth. You better be on board with employees and customers being regarded as more important than investors. You better be on board with promoting women through pregnancy. You better be on board with tithing 10% of free cash flow as the least we can do. You don’t have to be on board with prayer, but expect us to teach you. You better be on board with engineers leading a company and not a financially engineered company. You better be on board with data privacy. You better be onboard with going LOOOONG on CR and America 🇺🇸. Are YOU worried about your portfolio? WE are here to work as unto the Lord and glorify Jesus through building factories other countries could only dream about. We do that, and the portfolio will take care of itself. We are under covenant with God, you will be under covenant with us. You still want in? Okay, now you can have a 30 minute meeting. -your neighborhood engineer
You’ve got to know who you are not as an entrepreneur. I am not a rizzler. I have raised $0 in my life and I’ve tried. If you’re a rizzler, rizz for cash, but for me, I was always better off finding capital through creativity. If you’ve got a good idea, it’ll find money fast.

Hey @MatthewChang do we have an official Bible Study curriculum to go along with Risk Taking Is Biblical? I’m thinking one chapter per week. Would love to run one at my church.

HOW TO DESIGN A FACTORY Lots of talk these days about bringing back manufacturing to America. In light of that trend I've decided to give you a how-to-guide on designing a factory

They thought the raids would break me. Instead, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I went from chasing the highs, traveling nonstop, and working every second I was awake (and partying when I wasn’t)… to spending every day, every minute, and every second with my kids and my wife. I became a better father and husband than I ever was. I promised God in my darkness that I would lead a righteous life from that day on. Now I can feel Him. I wouldn’t change a thing. Now I understand life. They tried to beat me. I got stronger. I believe in always turning every negative into a positive, this was my best work yet.
My legal battle & fines cost me $6.6 million actual. But the real damage? Investments I had to sell, 5 prime years of my life (43–48), a business left behind, and projects killed. I conservatively estimate the total cost at over $50 million. that’s just the financial toll..

I'm having @grok coach @bot on the best way to read sermons from my church's YouTube as we build out a church engagement maximizer app. The future is fun.

I sent a v1 to my pastor last night. And by the time he sees it this morning it is about 10 iterations down the road. Most people have no idea what is possible now, and how fast it can be done.

Factotum tip: Due to compression of long context, and despite their ability to selectively search your chat history, it’s a good idea to have your factotum periodically “remind” itself about standing preferences.

Grok Bot builds a website based on a Grok Heavy interview. Claude in Chrome builds a subdomain to host a new app. Here I am, posting on X with you.

Skill stacking is biblical. And here the skill stack is framed between work as worship, and work in the face adversity. Because how we steward our talents is a form of worship—making the most of every opportunity God gives us. And because honoring God with our talents produces excellent work—even in adversity, which itself is an opportunity to glorify God. How it all looks in your life is the skill stack—the context where your talents show up. Whatever that looks like for you right now, there’s purpose and opportunity. Make the most of it! (This is from Deuteronomy when Moses was speaking God’s blessing over the tribes of Israel—the Levites in these verses.)

Big @bot failure today: Voice mode never wrote anything to the chat. When we hung up the whole conversation was just gone. And @grok ‘s proposed solution is for me to manually tell Grok Bot to write notes. A rare miss from a great tool.

"Build it in China because it's cheaper" Go home 2020, you're drunk.
The USA is now at cost parity with China! I break this down from the floor of the NYSE on Cheddar News. Great talk with Arnold Davick about the explosion of high end factories in the country, effects of tariffs, and automation as the base case. @ArnoldNYCTV @cheddar

“American Manufacturing…is now at cost parity with China.” 🇺🇸🦅 Cannot overstate how monumental this is for the current and future trajectory of the United States. We are in a massive, massive manufacturing buildout today, not just Knowledge Centers (FKA AI Data Centers).

Alexander the Great made a habit of greeting his soldiers by name. 2,300 years later, it's still the most aggressive leadership move in medtech. This is the natural consequence of a system that rewards forecast accuracy over relationship depth. The further up the org chart you go, the more abstract the customer becomes. The founders who build category-defining medtech companies run their leadership the opposite way. They know the surgeons and which engineer caught the recall before it shipped. They know which rep just had a hospital cancel a case last week. Here's how biographer Mary Renault put it, in The Nature of Alexander: "Without doubt, the love of the army was the breath of life to him; but never in his life did he try to get it cheap. It was not just a matter of being first into danger and last to take comforts when conditions were rough. Before a battle, he would greet men by name instead of making speeches. To have one's exploit remembered by him was in itself an award, though his material rewards were generous. He was constantly interested in the common soldier's predicaments, however remote from his own." Greet men by name → know their exploit → know the predicament they sit with tonight. That is the most aggressive form of leadership there is.
