The Plan has not changed. We still need a new right wing elite. You still need to find a wife and have lots of children. You still need to obey the Lord. You still need to make a serious amount of money. The Plan still depends on your performance.

Time to go to work.
It starts with young men like you. It starts within the GOP.
It ends with our children and grandchildren still having a country like we had.
Plenty of good analysis here - but it goes completely out the window when the Iran War is *still* being justified.
Conservative pundits should start valuing the truth over the talking points that people pay them to say
I think the story here is that rural voters were upset with the price of diesel. Not gas. Diesel. Which was caused by a combination of Iran and Ukraine.
There seems to be a massive dropoff in rural support for Republicans in places like Texas and Kansas. Republicans are doing better in Ohio (which is more urban).
This is being replicated across the board. In New York, Republicans performed more strongly in NY-11 (based in Staten Island and south Brooklyn) than NY-21 (based in the rural North Country). NY-11 was called for the Republicans already, NY-21 hasn't.
Another history parallel: the Volcker shock and farm crisis of the 80s severely damaged Republicans in the Midwest. Even in 1984, Reagan underperformed Nixon 1972 in places like Iowa, and in 1988, Bush lost Iowa and Wisconsin and there was a massive swing against the GOP even in places like the Dakotas.
The Iran war may have been necessary, but the price was putting a knife in the back of Trump's rural base. I don't think anything that happened on here, pro- OR anti-Trump, had a real effect on the election. X may have been important in 2024, but it's clearly not anymore. I can't mentally model the average rural voter apparently, but neither can panicans/the Retard Right etc. I doubt fraud played a role here, either (outside of the margins).

the republicans were handed the country on a silver platter for the first time in a long time culturally & politically and basically did nothing with it except bomb iran. historical fumble.

I’m sick of Republicans pretending that bombing Iran was worth it. It wasn’t.
Now we must endure a democrat trifecta in Wisconsin for the first time in 16 years.
This was entirely avoidable.
The course needs to change and heads need to roll, figuratively.
Join the conservative movement, be the change.
Make no mistake: these victories are not permanent. Democrats are going to take the complete wrong lesson from tonight and prove to be, once more, incapable of governing.
This is a complete misread of the situation.
A majority of the candidates who lost were inoffensive, regular Republicans. Even super moderate ones like Brian Fitzpatrick, Susan Collins and Mike Lawler went down.

It’s more than Iran. It’s more than gas prices. Republicans don’t have a good answer to the affordability crisis. That was very apparent during the campaign.
Democrats benefitted from that by being in the minority, yes, but also by seeming to care more about the actual problem.

Ken Paxton is going to perform about in line with Roger Marshall, a completely inoffensive generic Republican in Kansas. It's actually not about specific candidates. People are just not happy with the state of the country.
The absolute worst take of the night might go to Kellyanne Conway who says on Fox that "money no longer matters" in politics.
how do people even get "political analyst" positions? Absurd.
The biggest establishment shill Republicans you can find are already trying to use this as an excuse to revive Mitt Romney and John McCain.
The fight for 2028 is already back on. Get back to work everyone!
After the Biden era, Americans wanted an economy that worked for them. Instead, they received a hastily executed war, headline after headline of scandals, a ballooning $40 trillion debt, and unpredictable tariffs.
It’s time for Republicans to return to the principled conservative values that once defined us—and that we've steadily abandoned over the last decade.
No one is worse at winning elections than the GOP establishment. They'll try to put this on Trump and his movement - but REMINDER: the majority of the failed candidates tonight, as well as Mitt Romney, John McCain, and the party-decimating Bush administration, were their own
Can we call wraps on the whole experiment of Republicans choosing to vilify and insult young white men on the campaign trail?
Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson says young men playing video games in their parents’ basements should not be “mooching off the federal government.”
